Now that George lucas retires and The live action series still going to happen, Is it possible that Darth Vader might be in the live action show.

I read that Ian mcdiramed might being Playing Emperor Palpatine!

    What are your Thoughts?

EDIT! Disney now owns almost All Star Wars products and I think the Live action show going to be alittle different then what we where told by George Lucas! Disney annouced that Star wars has a 20,000 year time gap period and 17,000 charcetors. I wonder what the plan to do with the EU!

I hope we get a Knights of the Old Repulbic Live action or animated tv Show!

Can you imagine a Knights of the Old Republic tv series? That'd be unreal! That being said, I'd prefer to keep some of the force powers of that era out of the show and have a more classic Star Wars feel to it.

BTW black_saber is Ian's role reprisal still speculation at this point?

If Disney decides to green light SW:Underworld, dozens of scripts have already been written, so I do not see them scrapping those to revamp it.

However, I could see as the series goes on, if successful, more mainstream characters make more appearances.

Or better yet, just have ANOTHER series about Vader, Palps, etc.

It would be nice if you dident name your thread like something is a fact. It gives the wrong impression, that this is something that is actually happening. Its a pretty lousy thing to do.

Yea, when you write "Darth Vader too star in the live action Series!", especially when you end it with "!", it sounds like a news announcement.

Maybe just drop @Seerow a pm and ask her to change the title? ;) I think she can do that.

Fixed title to be more of a question and added the 'Live Action' tag.

If Disney is providing resources for an Avengers TV series, then with the success of both the SW films and TCW, I'd imagine that there will almost certainly be a Star Wars series of some sort.

It will still most likely be set between ROTS and ANH. Consider how Star Trek: The Next Generation was broadcast while multiple new Star Trek films were released with the focus of the film remaining on the characters and setting of ST:TOS.

Whether it will be what Lucasfilm has been envisioning (Star Wars: Underworld) for years or not depends on how thematically close or distant Lucasfilm and Disney want the LAS to be from the ST, the OT, the PT and TCW.

In a way I hope Darth Vader isn't in a tv show. After AotC I felt that Hayden's acting somewhat undermined the future sith's credibility and was only slightly redeemed in RotS (no offence to Christensen fans intended, just my opinion). Nowadays I wish Matt Lanter could VO Eps I and II as I think his portrayal is closer to the real Anakin than Hayden's. So when I look at Vader in his suit and think of who he was, it is Lanter's Skywalker who springs to mind for me. I'm not sure we should revisit Darth because of the possibility of him being ruined further.

If it was done right and with the right actor, a tv show starring Vader set during the jedi purge would be  But it would have to be dark in tone, more akin to ESB than ANH. Definately not like the Young Indy series.

Well, first we have to establish whether Disney/LucasFilm will even move ahead with the Live Action Show project. We do know that Disney has already gone on record saying that in addition to regularly releasing feature films, they are planning to utilize their television resources for Star Wars. Given Disney's stance and the copious amount of work and resources already put into the Live Action Series (reportedly, 50 scripts and the beginning of art design), it seems entirely within the realm of possibility that we may one day see the Live Action Show become a reality. I certainly hope so.

Next we have to consider what we've been told regarding these 50 scripts and the nature of the show. While we don't know much, what we can say is that the plan was for a show set during the Dark Times between Episodes III and IV. The stories are said to focus on the underground of the Star Wars galaxy, where, according to George Lucas, "Imperials will be everywhere... undercover operatives, Imperial Officers of all makes and ambitions, and nearly all of them will be afraid of Darth Vader." Admittedly, this could be taken to be a good sign of an appearance by Vader, but Lucas later goes on to say, "The Emperor and Darth Vader are heard about — people talk about them — but you never see them because it doesn't take place where they actually are."

Now, as boomx points out, these 50 scripts are not likely to be scrapped, particularly as they likely constitute one of bigger the reasons the producers would be in favor of moving forward with the show in the first place (to say nothing of the waste of time and money inherent in tossing them all out). Still, I think we all realize the marketing power Darth Vader holds (especially considering the idea of potentially seeing Vader during the Great Jedi Purge) and I can't imagine Disney, who will be eager to see a ROI would just dismiss the idea of a role for Vader out of hand. I'd imagine that room could be made in these 50 scripts for the shadowy presence of Vader (and Sidious, for that matter) to include the occasional on screen appearance. Additionally, I see no reason why a season premier and/or finale couldn't be written around a major starring role for the two ruling Sith (with my fanboy wish for a guest appearance by Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan Kenobi included somewhere in the story). As boomx also alluded to, should the show become a hit and further episodes are ordered, I think we could then expect an increased presence for Vader.

I'd love to see single ep cameos by Vader, Palpatine & Obi-Wan. Not as regular castmembers but sure as hell as special guest stars.

I'd really love to see a live-action TV series set between the prequels and the original trilogy, but I just can't shake the feeling that it won't happen somehow. And I'd much rather see this than any movies set after ROTJ.

I still tend to think what is going to end up happening is TCW will eventually get rebranded and just keep going in the gap between ROTS and ANH. It'll be that show and the Live-action idea will be shelved.

Well, if they increased the quality to the level of the 1313 and The Force Unleashed II cutscenes, or the The Old Republic trailers and intro, I wouldn't mind at all if the series was computer generated instead of live action…

JEJ probably doesn't have many years left in him.

I really hope they never try to replace him.
