Speculation Will Disney do a superbowl Episode 7 trailer?

I wonder if Disney has a plan to have a episode 7 trailer plan for the superbowl on the year of release?

I would imagine that by the time of the Super Bowl of the year of release, assuming for the moment that Star Wars will keep it's traditional early Summer release time, that there will be a full trailer online and a 30 second ad spot for TV. Super Bowl would be an ideal place to premiere that ad. That's the way the new Trek movie is handling it. I would expect the same for Wars.

Bloody hope not! As a Brit, I've got no interest in the superbowl, but if they did I've have to endure watching some of it to see the spot!

That's what I'm hoping for too, but it probably won't happen. This year it cost 3.8 million for 30 seconds of airtime, so a full 2 & 1/2 minute trailer would cost 19 million if the price doesn't increase at all by 2015.

Dodge Ram and Samsung both had a 2 minute commercial and Fast & Furious 6 had a 1 minute commercial so it's not completely impossible but highly unlikely.

If they do the spot I would expect a 1 minute commercial. But I can see them passing on the spot altogether and just tying the trailer to some middling film just to boost sales a bit for that film.

I'm also a Bears fan, it would be a perfect day for me if a Episode VII trailer/tv spot aired while Da Bears were winning a Super Bowl.

(I worked with a bunch of Carribean guys at my last job and they got me hooked, but I generally root for the land of the game's origin in international matches. Hoping to go to Australia in 2015 for the world cup).

Disney has the cash! A full on trailer is exposure to the planet. People all over the world would likely pi$$ in their pants and have a geek orgasm over this! Imagine a trailer and at the end Mark Hammil appears...forget the results of the superbowl! The front page of every magazine and website on the planet would be plastered with his Jedi Face photo from that trailer the next day!

I think it could be amazing. I think the trailer for this film will be an even in and of itself.

Well, I am impressed that you like cricket and, even more so, that you actually want to travel overseas to watch it. Does anybody over there watch Rugby? (American) Football is often characterised, over here, as rugby for wimps ... mainly because of all the padding, helmets etc that your footballers wear. Must say, rugby is pretty hardcore to play.

I think the full trailer will debut before a movie but now that Disney is running things I'm pretty sure they will at least do a 30 second Super Bowl spot, there was a Iron Man 3 spot yesterday and a Avengers one last year.
