Will Disney eventually change Lucas' production company names?

She will if she is someday Chairman of Disney. That is a real possibility.

 

Yeah kind of scary actually. As I already noted, that if it does happen I won't be surprised in the least.

 

Sorry I should clarify: If KK becomes Chairman, she will be in a position to tell Disney Co "No" to a name change.

I should have been clearer. I still don't see them changing the name as long as SW is up and running. I suppose they could change it eventually. The question then would be why change it. Many successful corporate brands keep names through numerous regime changes.

 

I hope that will always be the case. Here's to hoping.

 

Well, think of all the successful brands out there: how often do they change names? Logos? Yes, they change those. Lucas even changed his own. But names are different.

Even when they become part of larger conglomerates and are subsidiaries, successful brands and companies tend to keep their names.

 

True. I never looked at it from that angle. But again, anything is always possible. Good or bad.

 

The Lucas' names will join the EU under Legends, though the themed names, Skywalker Sound for instance, I don't see why Disney would want to change that, unless to get better recognition for Disney, eg. Disney Sound.

 

Yup, just like they've renamed Pixar, Marvel, and Touchstone.

 

Pixar was once called the Graphics Group witch was Purchased/Renamed by Steve Jobs from Lucas. The Graphics Lab was "stolen" & renamed by Lucas from NYIT.

 

I don't see any reason to rename Lucasfilm.
