Will Episode III be the best SW movie? Yes or No?

No. ANH and ESB are still streets ahead. Far, far better than ROTJ though.

I don't care what people think. For me, it was the best SW movie. I admit, I am a PT girl so I find the OT a little old school. It has its moments and there are certainly parts that I love. But somehow the whole tragedy of the PT has a greater power over me.

 

RotS is the best.

 

Yes indeed it is and it just gets better
the further into the story and
the action it gets.
The last hour is amazingly powerful.

 

See I grew up with the OT so it's hard for me to imagine these movies (the PT) surpassing the old ones.

Maybe I'm biased because of the era I grew up in but that's just the way it is.

But if we're talking about one individual movie then yeah it probably will be ROTS.....

Well I first saw the originals at the age of 3 and i believe Sith is a better INDIVIDUAL movie than any of the originals; like if they weren't connected; BUT with EpI to III as a backstory ESB and ROTJ are just so powerful.

 

as a series: classic trilogy by a little bit
as best of the 6: ROTS by a nose over TESB

I went thru and broke it down by acting, storyline, FX, dialog/script, cinemetography, music
and always come up with ROTS as slightly ahead of Empire.

Empire has better music score and script, but ROTS has the best storyline of the series!
I don't care for TESB story as much. basically, vader is hunting rebels as per ANH. they get away. luke gets trained. han and leia have hard time running away, end up on cloud planet. luke goes too. finds out vaders his father (great moment but rest is a pretty basic story)

I grew up with the OT and became a hardcore fan, fast... but I like the PT better. Now when I watch the OT films the dialogue does seem to be better at times but the action/duels are just almost substandard to the PT. RotS is by far the best of the 6, with TESB coming in second.

ANH ranks highly (#3) simply because of the "background" story given by Obi Wan (to Luke) about his father... which, by the way, is 10 times more touching to watch now that RotS has been made.

 

Let´s put it like this:

I had never ever before seen the same movie 7 times
in the cinema until ROTS came along.
There is a reason for that and it´s not
only a compulsory disorder.

 

Uhh, it just came out, so yea it is what ppl considered to be "the best". If you switch PT and OT, and the 4, 5, and 6 would be filled with these modern effects, I bet a bundle you'd see ROTJ 7 times also, if it was in the same league of effects as ROTS.

 

I thought about a year ago, it had a chance to be the best, but it just wasn't. After all 6 movies now, I have to say that ANH & ESB are the only truly great Star Wars movies. I love them all, cause they each have their moments, but really reflecting on all of them, IMO, you really see how much better ANH & ESB they are over the other 4 in the saga. It isn't nostalgia, because I think ROTJ has its problems, but I can't explain it, but they are just great movies that I wouldn't change. ROTJ, TPM, AOTC, & ROTS, I could sit here and say if they only have done this & that, it would be a classic. Oh well...

 

Yes I think ROTS is the best. ROTS and TESB are by far the best in the trilogy.

ANH is in the middle. It wasn't as good as ROTS and TESB. But it was the first star wars and it's a classic.

ROTJ was a little ify - but it was good.

AOTC and TPM in my opinion are bad and the worst of the Star Wars films. But all is forgivin Lucas. ROTS was amazing!!!

 

ROTS is definately the best SW movie. It was/is way better than ESB.

 

I think ESB will always be the #1 star wars film. But ROTS is going to get a lot of votes for #1.
I think if you put all the fans votes together you will get rankings something like this for the Star Wars trilogy.

The only movie that comes close to ROTS is ROTJ and that was NOTHING compared to it. So...ROTS!!!!!!!

ROTS actually makes ESB better.

When Yoda says the "friends, long gone" line. You have some idea
who he's talking about because you've just seen them annihilated.

I love the OT,i was very young when the released ROTJ in theatres and thats the movie that got me hooked.But i grew up with the prequals,and ROTS to me,was simply amazing.so here goes my ranking...

1.Revenge of the Sith (the only sw movie that made me cry + Ewan Mcgregor was fantastic)
2.Return of the Jedi (Vader's redemption is what did it for me)
3.A New Hope (Alec Guiness + everything obi-wan said to luke about his father means so much more after ROTS.)
4.Empire Strikes Back
5.Attack of the Clones
6.The Phantom Menace
