Will Tenal Ka say 'This is a fact' in Star by Star?

I'm a big YJK and Tenal Ka fan but I would have to say that no, Tenal Ka doesnt say her famous line "This is a fact" and she probably doesnt say 'Ah, aha!' either. She gave it up just like Jacen gave up telling bad jokes and being a real Jedi.

 

I never understood any of Tenel Ka's trademark lines, but I think Denning will use it anyways.

 

I think she was given trademark lines so we could tell her apart from the other YJK like we needed any help.. I mean a Dathomirian/Hapan princess/warrior is not that hard to tell apart from a Wookie or a couple of Solos..

 

I think it will be used because Denning was said to have read the YJK and I think he'll try to work with some of what was written.

If Denning knows anything about characters, of course she will.

 

I know...But I've read some authors who do a horrible job of keeping a character in character and since I haven't read Troy Denning's work before...you get the point.

In the YJK series, when someone said something, and Tenal Ka agreed, she would always say, "This is a fact." She also said, "Ah. Aha," quite a lot too.

 

She would say "Ah. Aha." whenever Jacen would tell a bad joke, which was every other page to be honest.

 

Yeah, but he doesn't tell bad jokes anymore, it was explained in BP that that was only because he was an insecure little bugger.

 

And he's not now?

 

Well, I have heard Jaina say, "What are we waiting for?" lately- I hope she doesn't start again- Denning can leave all that crap out for all I care!

 

And I hope they leave Em-Teedee out as well. I liked the kids but that flying Threepio head gets on my nerves...

 

I never understood why they even needed Em-teedee. They've been around Chewie their whole lives, their father knew the language- looks like they could have picked up a little Wookeese (?).

 

I always hoped that Tenel Ka's bratty little one-liner ("This is a fact") was like Jacen's bad jokes--something they would all grow out of. I could not stand that character and that line made her even worse.

Well Tenal Ka was always my favorite of the bunch, I think she really grew as a character during the series which I cant say for J & J and Lowie who were pretty much the same up until NJO anyway.

Tenel Ka, Zekk and Raynar really blossomed in that series. I cant wait to see where Troy Denning takes them...

"This is a fact" he he, it bugs my friends when i say that... the reason i chose her name was because i always used to say "ah, aha" even before i'd ever read one of the YJK books. the fbi are keeping close surveilance, and then they steal and sell my lines to Del Rey, tsk tsk tsk

 

Hell No, Denning has some taste at least.

Please don't prove me wrong Mr. Denning. Please!

 

I bet she's going to say it at least once, but as a familiar little private joke rather than a regular thing. That would be cool.

Likewise, I would love it if Jacen broke his grim, solemn NJO character for one moment in the book and told a corny joke for old time's sake.

 

Tenel Ka will say "This is a fact", of course! Its her signiture line!

 

Well as a long time YJK fan I have to say that I am really gratified that not only is Troy Denning a YJK fan as well but that he's made SbS a mini-YJK reunion book. I hope the kids make it out of there..
