    obviously the cartoons is obvious.

but has it been released who will the superbowl-like goldmine of airing the TV show?

i mean any network that wins this race will have an advertising bonanza when it comes to commercial airtime revenues, right?

but if the series in fact has anything to do with the purge and is dark enough to NOT be compared to the old Planet of the Apes TV series...
then wouldn't HBO be a great place for it?

    think about it:

ABC: owned by disney - how serious can the plots really be?
NBC: must see thursdays??? 'joey' and then stay up for Star Wars ?!?!?!?
CBS: no idea - never watch the channel. 'everybody loves anakin'?
    FOX: hmm. maybe.
HBO: home of Deadwood -- need i say more??? ;)

should this be on networks with commercial interruptions??
should this be on cable for the lack thereof and the programming edge?
should it be on @ 8:00 or 10:00?
it's gonna be a 'dark time' in the gffa - especially following RotS - can it be a show with happy endings for kids to watch and then be in bed in time for milk and cookies?

or is this a moot point and we already know the answer?

I think the channel will make a world of difference.

NBC: Never been sci-fi friendly really (unless its a syndicated show).

ABC: Owned by Disney...I don't see this happening.

CBS: Might be a good way to resurrect the network and draw in viewers for something OTHER than CSI, although they'd have to invent a new day of the week to make room for SW amidst all the CSI spinoffs....

FOX: The most likely choice, their parent company holds distribution rights for the films....

WB: DEAR GOD DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN! We DO NOT need SW Buffy style!

Cable Networks: If its a premium channel (HBO, Cinemax, Showtime) then I could see it, but if its a cable network (USA, SciFi, Spike) then it will be a horrendous flop.

Here's hoping they make the right decision.

maybe CBS isn't such a bad choice.... especially if the series focuses on peripheral jedi during the purge...

Actually, that's probably the best way to ensure it'll be successful- Scifi in particular would be perfect for SW. If it's even halfway decent of a show, it'll last at least 3 seasons there (whereas I can't see a SW series lasting that long on network TV) probably even more (Stargate is going into it's 9th season [11th if you count Atlantis], Battlestar Galactica has been a huge hit and is probably guarenteed at least 3 or 4 seasons and even Farscape had 4 seasons [almost 5]).

CBS got the Holiday Special, so maybe.

    CBS: CSI: Courascant

    That might work...

Fox would cancel it after 3 episodes no matter what to make room for more "prank" reality shows. The other networks wouldn't even begin to know how to do it, unless it was a sitcom, police procedural, or hospital drama. Whoever said "Everybody Loves Anakin" is on the right track. :)
SciFi is the only option other than premium cable. Battlestar Galatica is brilliant! If SciFi got the show, and made it more of a political drama that just happens to be set in space (just like BSG), it would make for an excellent new spin on the franchise.

Wouldn't it have to be on Fox, considering that 20th Century Fox has the rights?

    Too slimy for spoilers!

Fox doesn't own Star Wars, Lucas does- they just have distribution rights to the films.

For example, Lucas could have gone to Warner Bros to distribute the prequels if he had wanted to, but gave Fox first dibs since they distributed the originals.
