NYC, NY Will You Require a Hotel Room in May?

The reason I post this is that I have a lead on a hotel on the Upper West Side (71st off CPW) with 100 rooms that start at $129/night. They also offer group rates. I'm perfectly willing to try and set something up with them, I'm just trying to gauge interest at this point.

I did a little digging around, and got the advice of a friend who was here in '99 regarding this stuff. I'm not sure eggsactly what kind of budget you're going to be on, but if saving dataries is the priority, your best bet would be a youth hostel. You can find a list of the locals at http://www.hostels.com/us.ny.ny.html. My friend will be staying at the same place he did last time, Big Apple Hostel, which should run about $30 for the dormitory. Hope this is of some help, and just remember...once you get to the line you're not going to want to go anywhere!
