    Hi All,
I touched in this with Rod and Leanne Hannah at bluemilkspecial.com this evening in an interview for their PodCast:

Will you see the 3D release of 'ANH' in the same cinema you saw it in, in 1977?

I had hoped to do this, with my son - but sadly, it's long gone.

Since the last time I checked it was a QVC, no. It doesn't exist anymore.

No, but if I can find out what theater my parents might have seen it in, I will try to see it there. I was born in 1981, so if I can't do the other thing I will have to see it where I saw the Special edition version of 'Star Wars'.

It's still there, but don't know if they do 3-D, it's a pretty old-school cinema.

It'd be funny if you could to go see it in 2D. It sounds perverse, but given the option I might do that!

I was around in 1977 but I don't know what theater I saw it in, and I was living three hours north from where I currently live.

    So...no.

I say most of the 1977 cinemas have been demolished and replaced with characterless, plastic, Multi-plexes.

The theater where I saw the rereleased ANH with the "Revenge of the Jedi" trailer is now a Barnes & Noble and a Today's Man.

I think the cinema I saw it in, and TESB for that matter, is some kind of furniture or carpeting store.

That's just mind boggling odd. Seeing ANH 3D in a theater that was built in the 70's or before that. I doubt the theater would have the capability of that unless they either completely redid their building or they just don't care how old the building is and want to have newer things.

The theater that I saw TPM (it was pretty old itself) turned into a church back in the mid 2000's. Theaters come and go sadly.

You could always use these. I've reviewed them and can confirm they work great.

Would that I could. The old Menlo Park Twin was one of a mere handful of theaters that showed ANH from the beginning, and in Dolby, too. I saw all three of the OT for the first time there, along with CE3K. Sadly, it's been gone for a while.

For the PT and the "Clone Wars" movie, I moved to the multiplex at the Menlo Park Mall, a short ways south on Rt. 1, other side of Woodbridge Center. It's a very different place, but I figure the spirit is there.

Nope. That would require a trans-Pacific flight to Olongapo, R.P., involving $ and a passport of which I have neither.

I've never heard of a cinema called 1977. Where is it located?

    Nope.

I actually know the street I went to see it with my parents in 1977 (Paris, France), but can't remember which theater it was or if it still even exists !

Seeing as I have changed countries since then, no. I'll probably see it at my local cinema or in London if the local doesn't have it.

Not the first go around. I first saw it in a drive-in, I want this time to be high class theater, but then I'll go to the drive-in for old time's sake. (Thank goodness I just moved back to where I was born!)
