Wow! Such exciting news. John Williams, Yo Yo Ma, and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra will perform and record the soundtrack to Memoirs of a Geisha in front of a live audience on August 20 and 21. It will later be released by Sony/BMG Masterworks.

After the great time I had at the CSO concert in October, I'm really going to try to make it to this one as well. This is a once in a lifetime experience.

This is really cool, I wish I could go. I'm a big fan of the score.

I'm torn on this one. On one hand, it's another chance to see Williams live in concert, plus Yo Yo Ma. On the other hand, I am not a huge fan of the score to Memoirs of a Geisha. I mean there's about 10 or 20 scores I would have preferred of his over this. I'll have to think on this. Of course the 30 minute train ride isn't that bad either. :D

Geisha is a sublime score. It sets a wonderful tone. I can't wait for this release.

That's amazing! I went to the Williams CSO concert in November and it was amazing.

I'm seeing Williams the May 20 and 21, with the Boston Pops. Around here he will always be the conductor of the Pops. I'd rather see Williams with his orchestra than with any other.
