I can't wait for this DVD! I havn't even been able to find Willow on VHS, and now there's a special edition on it's way.

I hope the deleted scenes are included. I want to see what the battle scene was like. The scene where Willow is attacked by the "fishboy?" sounds interesting too.

It's already been stated that there would be commentaries on it, do you think Lucas will be in any of them for the DVD?

    I hope so.

Who will be doing the commentaries?

Will there be an isolated score?

I haven't seen Willow yet, but this DVD looks like a good opportunity for me to change that.

I think I'll give it another chance on dvd. It's funny, Lucas once said that Willow was the movie that he really wanted to make when he made Star Wars. LOL.

Anybody know how "hands on" Lucas was for Willow? I remember it being billed as a Ron Howard film.

Well Ron Howard directed it. Lucas wrote and produced it.

At least I am not the only one who hasn't seen it. I want to buy the DVD anyway.

Yep Lucas only wrote the story. I think he said he had the idea for Willow before Star Wars, but again he waited until the special effects (ILM) could catch up with his imagination before starting production. (like he said about The Phantom Menace).

So far Warwick Davis is on a commentary.

Some guy named Bob Dolman wrote the actual script from Lucas' notes.

I have. They're outstanding. Much more complexity than even Star Wars.

Yeah, Shadow Dawn is great. Yet, there´s too less Willow in it.... Thorn Drumheller sounds awefull.
And the new trilogy really has a great ending, nothing one could expect.
But, sort of much violence in there. Remember the scene on the boat during the "storm"?

I agree, looks abit plain or something.

I still hope the deleted scenes make it to the DVD.

Well its no Phantom Menance DVD, but any dvd with Lucas involvment is worth investigation.

A pity they wouldn`t redo that god awful stop-motion scence with Val Kilmer...

November. One month before the first LOTR movie comes out. Not a coincidence IMO.

I love Willow. I remember seeing it in the theater with my mom, and then when it came out on video, I watched it at my friend's house. My mom said I had to come home, and I was bummed...but then we rented it ourselves.

Willow is one of the few Fantasy movies to actually be GOOD.

For failures, see Dungeons & Dragons.

Anyone ever play the Willow NES game? I did a long time ago. It was an RPG.

I still have a movie sourcebook that's compatible with D&D and has original background info and fiction on all the characters and settings in the movie.

I saw this at Walmart the other day and I think it was 9.88. Walmart is resetting their DVDs this month so Willow could be off the shelf. Maybe I'll luck out and it will end up in the $5.50 bin.

*frowns and speaks of herself in the third person*

Elora didn't know that it came out on SE. :(

I suppose I could go get it at a used store, unless Walmart still carries it.

Unfortunately I still have the recorded cassette back from before I was born, the copy my parents watched...then they had me. :p
