Are we sure there is not a small actor inside? The thing is moving way to smoothly for a robot or remorte controlled puppet.

Gotcha! I just glanced at it briefly and didn't study it too closely.

Thanks for clearing that up! [face_peace]

Oh I'm sure there's someone inside walking, but the movements are animatronic. And it's not plugged into anything as most robotics are.

i know the UK is not as hot as the middle east, but does anyone think the "pinewood is colder than dubai" line is a cryptic reference to hoth?

I think there is a person in it. It looks like they actually go up into the racks with the head in the second rack from the top.

That kind of TPM vibe is imo a good sign. The Tatooine sets/props for TPM were amazing. Visually, there would be nothing wrong with connecting with TPM for these Tatooine scenes. It's the dialogue and performances that have to be...better! Also, less CGI slapstick.

Gotta love how we go in to meltdown when we get a glimpse of something new. That child like excitement just doesn't go away with new Star Wars movies.

I think the puppeteer is probably operating the head with rods and wires and animatronic remote control deals with its expression and the movement of the creatures in the cages.

Whoever said that creature reminded them of the guy from Labyrinth carrying all the things on his back, that was also my first thought. But seriously, I love that there are puppets. And also, I'd bet that there are some purposely planted clues in that video just waiting for us to nitpick :)

It looks like the Tatooine from the PT, not the OT yes. I wonder if Watto is still around :)

Agreed... And this is what I mean when I say that I think that the ST will be a lot closer to the PT than OT (in terms of look and feel). As soon as I saw that video it took me straight back to 1999. :)

That alien design, man. JJ/the design team gets it. This will not be a Star Wars film that takes itself too seriously to include a weird goat creature with a hunchback. The thing totally fits in with the Cantina, Mos Espa, or Jabba's Palace.

I'll fork over $10, sure. Agreed with whoever else said this is a fantastic way to take advantage of the massive hype for this film.

Hello, I'm Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight and friend to Captain Solo. Whether I'm training to be a Jedi, fighting the Empire or trying to save my father from the Dark Side, I get there in the Kia Rio. It's good for city driving, off road, the wastelands of Tatooine, the ice fields of Hoth or wherever I have to go. The Kia Rio, the Force is with this car.
