See, I'm thinking no matter what way the inquiry goes, he's gone for good. He didn't retain his electorate seat in 2005 and New Zealand First was just over the threshold. Considering John Key has ruled out a coalition with National, I think right-leaning voters will be wary of voting for NZ First and they won't make it past 5% this time.

But I'm sure he'll find a new career hosting talkback ...

Haven't heard what he did. Never voted for him or his party, I don't really care.

 

I don't think he'll get back in. Tauranga seems to have tired of him, and NZ First are unlikely to reach the 5% threshold in the next election. But, he'll always be around.

I love Obama. Fingers crossed for the US election ... it's going to be close.

 

It's kind of a really gross insult, if that word refers to the medical equipment.

My boss is going to the US for a month so I've asked him to bring me back an Obama banner if he can find one. The polls are looking close even after the dem convention ... I think we might see a repeat of 2004, and it will go either way 51-49. I just hope the upcoming debates will change things.

 

Yeah, Obama really talks the talk. I think what he lacks in experience he can compensate for in terms of inspiration, and he's picked a solid, old-school running mate.
