Winter games Banner entries

Well, just the two this time around proving that 3 monthly is WAY to often to run these things. Don't expect another banner comp for Games for a year.

If neither of these entries is deemed better than the present banner, either the present one will stay on, or design staff will create a new look for theforce.net/games/ which will probably carry over to here.

well, if jp-30 doesn't even get a say in the matter then I guess we shouldn't.


though out of the 3 banners, that first new one is my fav. (the third being the current banner)

 

Don't expect another banner comp for Games for a year.


If I had known no one was really doing this, I'd have made one of my best quailty banners ever!

I might have even not used MS PAINT!!!! Not too likely though

Anyway, about the banners, they both look great, I'll be happy w/ either one.

 

Well, there aren't any snowtroopers in any of them (I thought they had appeared in some games?) but the second banner looks more winter-ish to me. First one looks great too, but seems more a summer banner with the warm colors used.

Plus the second banner has the obligatory ForceBoat reference, so it has that going for it too. But either way, to the guys who did the banners, great job!

#2 has my vote.

 

The first one has a Forceboat too. It's under the big x-wing.

Considering the banner chosen will be used for a year or so, seasonal themes don't really factor into the decision IMO.

And the curve on entry 2 was wrong, I've uploaded the new one, so if you still see a curve that doesn't mesh, hit refresh.

I personally like the first one best. It seems to represent a wider variety of games.

 

Ah. Well this thread was titled "winter games banner entries" so I assumed it would just be for winter.

If it's for all year round, then I will also go with the first banner. It isn't as high contrasted on the eyes, is a good color scheme, and anyone that uses lots and lots of pics from the X-Wing sims always gets my vote.

The 2nd one is rather sparse. :-\


My vote goes for Banner # 1 (though I know votes don't count, I'm just voicing my opinion ).

 

I'd go with Banner 2. The text and the sabers in Banner 1 ruin the banner for me.

 

i like the second one the best. i like the colors in it. although it doesnt have as many games as the first one does.
