WIP: my first Star Wars-model

Here's a WIP, and my first Star Wars model as the topic says. Supposed to be a Tie Interceptor, not sure if it's close enough to accually be called one tho. Used greeble for the details.

Yeah it's not really accurate, but for a custom Tie with some modifications to the window it would look pretty cool.

No kidding! A little overuse here and there.

I think you were on the right track, but not quite there.

Speaking of greebles, I had a Greeble plugin for an older ver of MAX, but I lost it when I upgraded to 4.2.

Is there a greeble available for 4.2?

 

I'm using the version 4 greeble plugin with max 5.1, so shouldnt it work in 4.2 as well?

 

I thought greeble was cool when it first came out, but lately it seems that many modelers' models are suffering from greeble abuse... the only thing I use it for anymore, is a quick way of doing background city buildings when I'm too lazy to do actual buildings(which is most of the time)...

the biggest prob with greeble is, if you've used it, you recognize it whether someone admits to using it or not, and to me that takes away from that modeler's accomplishment... I'm old school, and detailing to me is the same way... back in my day when we wanted detail, we did it ourselves while walking to school uphill in 3 feet of snow...

Greeble is good as long as you use it in the right spots, and in moderation. When you cover everything using it, it takes away.

Well, as I said, it's my first star wars model, and the first time I've used greeble, since I was looking for a faster way to add detail.

And yes, I suck.
