More texturing on the bay floors:

The last one has the reflections pulled out so that it doesn't look so new and shiny. But I like the spotty reflections. I think they will look correct once I get all of the other elements in the scene. They are just oil and water spots on the floors. Water fits into the storyline.

This model keeps getting better and better each time it is updated. Like the animation too...the slow camera move and docking ship give the craft immense scale...well done.

So here is the only crit I have....I would add some exterior lighting to the craft. It is a docking, repair and building facility right? Perhaps some landing strip lights and blinkers on the hull. It would give an extra dimension to the ship.

    Keep up the good work,
    Steve

Thanks for the input. There are some lights at the exterior edges but their scale is wrong and I think I will redo them. There may need to be some more lights on the interior of the entryway faces as well.

I was kind of thinking of having holographic projections for the guide lights. As a ship approaches a bluish white holographic landing strip guides them to the appropriate bay entry... That would eliminate the need for too many external lights.

Keep the input coming! And thanks!

Sorry, but I had to reorganize my site's directory structure, so all of these pics moved.

This page contains all images and videos linked so far and will be kept up to date with future updates as well.

For now, here are the latest bay floor pics in the correct location:

So, with all the locked threads and stuff, this fell back a ways and I haven't gotten any input.

Anyone? Textures on the floor. Good? Bad? Ideas?

the textures don't look bad... maybe a little too consistent considering the scoring on deck... altho it looks like some of the wall textures are stretched a bit...

another thing you should do, IMO, is bevel some of those corners... everything looks a tad too sharp...

yeah, with all the locking downs, I think some ppl are getting a little gun shy about replying in threads...

I'm sure the lighting that's in it now is temporary, I think it should be less consistent also... since it's supposedly coming from thost light panels on the sides...

beyond that, looking better and better...
    ;)

    Thanks, DS!

The corners are all beveled. They are just small bevels. A small portions of these areas would get some closeup shots so the bevels are small enough to support the closeups.

The wall textures are still temp, and yeah, they are stretched.

There are two overhead light strips that run the length of the bay as well. That is why the lighting is so even.

The walls still nees some greebling and some full texture maps.

I've stopped work on this model in favor of an illustration that popped into my head, but I'll get back to this in the future...
