Went to target today and bought the last 3 boxes they had. On sale for $8 instead of $16. OK, I left the space ships boxes behind. They still had 6 of the vader/kenobi 6-pack sets. Anyone else spotted a good deal?
Recently found a used Hero's Guide for d20, so my collection is complete. I have every book, magazine and box set for SW d20 (not counting minis)
Nice of WotC to just take down the entire directory for SW. Went to see what the minis were since they don't include checklists with booster boxes anymore. Couldn't find any mention of StarWars on the site. If they have it at all, they've hidden it. thanks a heap there guys. Real helpful. On the plus side, I think I've got the mold of the Sith knight coming along (or was it emperor's hand?). It's taken a few tries because portions of the figure are so thin that a simple air bubble can mean the difference between mini and disconnected limbs. Hope this one comes out right. If it does, My minis don't have to have just the colors that WotC put out. I'll be able to build minis with any color lightsaber I want! All I will have to do is mix the epoxy with the right dye. And have a working mold of whatever figure. Still, not bad...
I think someone over here doesn't know what it means to lose a licence. It means WotC is no longer allowed to make any official mention of Star Wars on their site. So take your righteous indignation, and aim it where it belongs: Lucas Licensing.
Yeah. It is one thing to say "We're not making any more," and another to have to take down all reference to the materials previously made. Not having (or being able to have) a catalog of existing work is rediculous, or just plain silly. Are we going to get a new company for games & minis? Anyone know?
It's one thing to take down the website due to the license expiring, it's another thing to only give people four hours from the actual confirmation of "yes, the site is going to come down" to the actual doing so. A lot of people were unable to make backups of the articles they wanted. I managed to get a majority of them, but had to rely on someone who did to get the ones I missed.
There a comic book store near me that carries a lot of their Star Wars stuff. I'm friends with the owner, so I'm tempted to ask him to put aside some of the figures I don't have.
Not Paizo, their execs said is wasn't them Pinnacle, using the Savage Worlds system SJG - Gurps Star Wars (NO!) Green Ronin - Could work with the new M&M Fantasy Flight Games - Big manufacturer and publisher WoTC - Guess they could snach it back
True20 Star Wars I could see working nicely. The system is a good blend between fast action and the detail you get with d20
Very true, plus they fit the "not a company known for their miniatures" shoe that Mongoose Publishing guy mentioned. They've nabbed DC Comics, A Song of Ice and Fire, Dragon Age... perhaps now Star Wars?
For the new publisher, it would be nice to see SW back into WEG hands, and I guess Fantasy Flight and Paizo would do it justice. Are there any news on this? I was looking around for update but didn't find much info.
Word on the street is Fantasy Flight. They're hiring right now, in this economy. All of the other companies replied with "no." They replied,"No comment." I'm guessing they won't announce anything until they have product in hand and can sell it right away.
Found a bunch of boxes of minis at Target. Must have been hiding in some store room. Picked them up for $3.50 per box. Much better price than that $16 they started at.
So we're still waiting... Really? I would think they'd want to capitalize on the CW cartoon cross-pollination as much as possible. And try to capture some more with the computer games.. Anyone heard anything?
Fantasy Flight: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=2528 That page says they have plans for card and mini games releases in 2012. Nothing about RPGs Also, its oldish news...I havent looked for anything more current.
Yahooooo! I've been wondering about this. WotC did a good job with it, and I almost bought the core books. But, they were too expensive for me at the time. I'm looking forward to seeing a new SW RPG, no matter who does it...
