Wolverine was born in the 1880s. He served with the Canadian military in both world wars fighting along side Captain America in flash backs during various comics and other media during the 90s and 2000s. And to clarify the disappearance I was referring to was Captain America's when he was frozen in the Atlantic for several decades and presumed dead until the Avengers thawed him out.

Sure, I got the Cap reference. I just had no idea Logan was so dang old. Some Mighty Marvelite I turned out to be!

I believe that the Sub-Mariner had a hand in that, too.

I wouldn't be surprised, but sadly I doubt he will be included in the fold of the arc of movies leading to the Avengers...which is a shame because I still think that Hugo Weaving would make an awesome Namor.

IIRC, they finally established how old Wolvie was in the "Origin" miniseries from a few years back- it detailed his life in teh 1880's as he first discovers his powers. This served as the inspiration for the current "Wolverine: Origins" series, which recently had a WW2/Cap storyline (followed by a great Wolvie vs Deadpool story arc set later on).

To be fair to Vertigorn, no one was certain of Wolverine's true age for a long time and while Origins outlined where and when he came from a lot of people disputed whether it was canon. I think the first time its accepted as truth was on M-Day when Wolverine's memories came back.

However I could be entirely wrong about that.

Origins was also the miniseries that pointed out that Logan's real name is James Howlett a moniker that is brought up from time to time, particularly by people or records from deep in his past (like Cap or Fury).

Just saw the teaser. Better to have left out the Cajun accent from X-men 3 so he gets better screen time here. Looked classic in the second you saw hi.

I just realized something after watching the teaser on youtube.com.

Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber were in another movie together which is lightyears from the Wolverine genre.

I have found it in the amateur version, but does anyone know when the teaser is scheduled to be released officially in a clearer format?

Well the clip they showed is only being dubbed a trailer by the internet media and fans. I haven't heard whether that will officially be the trailer, or if it was simply a clip they put together to tease people at the convention. If its the latter than it seems unlikely that it will come out at any time, in any official capacity. If that was simply a sneak peak I would suspect they would like to polish it a little before releasing it officially.

So for the moment there only exists a bootleg as far as I can tell.

There are, or were, several videos on youtube.com where Jackman is there to speak to the crowd just before he shows them the footage. He actually states that he and some of the crew just sort of threw some footage together. My guess is that we will not get an actual trailer until the Thankgiving blockbusters start getting released later this year. He also makes it sound like they are through with shooting. I assuming that means principle photography only. Now they'll spend the next 9 months or so getting it finished. I read somewhere that he is probably going to be Rhett Butler for the Broadway production of Gone with the Wind. So I guess they had to get everything involving him wrapped up before he starts other projects.

On the flipside, IIRC, X2 had a comic-con preview focusing around the mansion invasion sequence, and that pretty much formed the basis for the first X2 trailer that came out shortly afterwards, I think.

Wow that trailer, although way shaky, was pretty damn cool. This looks like it might turn out pretty good.

Oh man, I can't wait for this. I'm excited about Gambit, but also worried terribly that they might try and put him into a time that he's not supposed to be in. Though from the trailer, it looks like his parts are modern, which gives me some hope.

QFT. Though to be honest I'm more interested in seeing RR's Deadpool - who should be much more interesting...

I was surprised by how epic the film looks. It's jumped to the top of my most anticipated list.
