    Lately I've gravitated away from Anakin stuff and toward getting a good Wolverine Jacket out there that people can actually afford since the Vanson(X1) is $550 and the Bates(X2) is $1100+.
    The X3 jacket is kind boring IMHO so I'm aiming for the first two.
    The X1 looks to be done first and very soon.
    I was hoping to keep the price below $200 but looks like it's getting just above that, in the $240 range.
    I hope to have pics of the basic Jacket by Friday from the supplier.
    I know there's a bunch of interest on RPF but I'm not a member there (they haven't been accepting any new registrations for a year it seems, anyone know what's up with that?)
    So anyway figured I'd stick the word out here...if you're interested PM me for details, and pass it on to the RPF Wolve threads if you like.

    I did a basic Wolvie for Halloween one year.

    I just bought a cycle jacket that was close and used yellow duct tape for the effect. It's way too bright if you're going for screen accuracy but I was going for over the top visual impact. At first I just bought the jacket for the costume but now I love the thing and wear it all over the place. Same with the belt actually but the buckle is of course removable.

    Is this a cross between the X1 and X2 version?
    I actually kinda like the X3 version, has anyone found the maker yet?

    I'm not doing a cross... Like I said getting the details worked out on the X1 version first. Brown with orange stripes, classic OG.

    Not sure on the maker of the X3 but I bet I could have that done easily since the base jacket is the same as X1. Just the arm banding is boring and that's the only thing on the jacket.

    Yes Sal, you are crazy. X3 is lame compared to the other two, but it is the most conservative as an everyday jacket to wear, so maybe you're just an introvert if you prefer that one. ;)

    I like the X1 a lot, but the look of the X3 one keeps pulling me back, its weird. It's this one shot of the jacket that I just really like i guess.

    I wish! Haven't had a response all week from my contact on this, and it's getting me a little worried.

    Had to grab up a couple things over the past week to throw on, just to hold me over... ;)

    Take it easy, dude! :rolleyes:

    A little OT costuming talk is allowed now and then, especially if it's from a regular Star Wars costumer who's posting it. ;)

    I can't tell if you were joking or not. [face_beatup] You used a lot of exclamation points. :eek:

    Wow, somebody's grumpy... thanks for the backup JL.

    I know an update is long overdue... was hoping to have this altogether much faster.
    Looks like the company is now putting the first jacket together after a few weeks of back and forth on the details, this all in between the life priorities that have recently cropped up.
    I may have finished product pics in a week if everything goes smoothly (like that ever happens ;)

    Well I did get pics earlier this week of the jacket they had put together... Looked nice, but half the details we had covered were not done. So I went over the details they had missed and they are making a correct one for me that should be done by next week. I was a little irritated that all this stuff was clearly layed out and still not done, but the large details they did a good job with, and they were very responsive on getting a correct one together, so I'm hopeing for the best still.

    I also found out from a great guy over on RPF that another great movie jacket company replied that they would do the jacket, so I sent the design pics on... so one way or another we'll get these done.

    As anyone still following this on the other forums we're on knows... I received my first X1 version of the jacket.
    It's pretty good, good colors and bullet proof build, but decided to sell it since I have a couple other versions in the works...working with Wested to see how their custom version for me will come out. Sent them the correct color leather off a goodwill jacket I found for the arm and waist stripes.
    Here's some of my Wolve stuff on the bay...

    Your custom PD jacket really doesn't look all that bad, just those boxes around the zipper portian that bothers me. I'll be sure to keep an eye open on the rpf thread for your custom wested jacket.
    Why are you selling your claws?

    Until my Wested arrives I'm working on other things...

    Working on a new set of gloveless claws in aluminum... similar to the movie prop style.

    [image=http://home.att.net/~dan.theman/newwolveclaws.JPG]
    [image=http://home.att.net/~dan.theman/newwolveclaws2.JPG]

    As you can see they start out as a very rough casting that I had to file down to good shape, then hit with various sand papers and rough polisher pads on a b&d mouse sander.

    Got the wires for one hand bent to fit and still need to shape the palm grip... much more to come.
