I am too, but we aren't slowing down the war machine by having arbitrary sexist rules about who can fight it.
Completely agreed. While the war machine is rolling, equal opportunity is a great, great thing. Other than that it's an opportunity to be part of the war machine. It's all very cyclical in my head.
Being of the same mindset, I think Bill Hicks summed it up nicely - he refers here specifically to gay service people, but it's a pretty universal bit of insight: (Language warning, obviously)
Great, we get the Tweet directly from the creepy pastor from Poltergeist 2. That always makes receiving news go more smoothly... This should be Ghoulsbee's Twitter pic:
"What's the G12 do?" "Says it destroys everything but their fillings. Helps pay for the war effort." "Call up G-12." (makes noise of a missile firing) "Cool! What's G-13 do?"
It's actually good policy on the government's part. Honestly, when you're conducting a War on Terror that, by its very nature, is intended to be perpetual, you want any and every recruit available. America...the world's first truly progressive empire.
I'm reminded about that flaretroll thread about women taking our masculinity away or something like that.
It's been pointed out before, but the Soviets were way ahead of us on this. I'm so unattractive to women, you know. I'm a psychotic misogynist fundamentalist who no attractive woman could possibly be sexually attracted to. How awful and shamed I must feel. I was going to say, "Isn't this a Senate thread?", but then I remembered that I posted three high resolution photographs of Holly Holm, so, really, I've no right to judge.
Sorry, I thought you were trying to shame me by implying that women reject me. Obviously, I was wrong. So yes, I'll go cry over how severely I've been mistreated by our man-hating society.
As a person who's very popular with the opposite sex, the first thing that comes to mind is mocking someone for lacking my prowess. But it's usually a safe bet that I take pity and spare the poor man.
Just curious, but will the women be entering combat with rolling pins? I fear for any military that would face such a horror.
