Sac, CA WonderCon April 25-27

I know it's a bit early, but I thought I would post this to keep you all thinking ahead. WonderCon is a ComicCon-type convention being held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.

I will be there either Saturday or Sunday volunteering a few hours with the Rebel Legion in their booth with the 501st. There will be some kind of background set up so people can take pictures with Jedi, Storm troopers, etc. Hopefully we can get a group from the SVRF to go too. (Can we say Carpool?)

Odds of me going in costume?. Just one can of Pepsi.

You don't have to go in costume. I will be in costume because I'll be with the RL, but it would be cool to go marching in with a whole group of costumed SVRF "Rogues".*Force theme plays in background*

Back to my delusions.

 

Just thought I'd drag this back up to the top to keep it on people's minds. If you don't want to pay to get in, you can volunteer with WonderCon for three hours and get to spend the entire day at the event for free. I told them I could do Saturday or Sunday or maybe both at any time.

Also, if you need a ride, I am sure I or someone else who is going could arrange transportation.

I was hoping to go to this as well, but I'm not sure if I can or not. We are having a trooping event in San Diego that same weekend "Earth Day." I sort of owe the So Cal Rebel Legion Commander a big favor as he helped me put my Stormtrooper armor together... I am still working on it though... frantically trying to get it ready for Grand Slam in Pasadena this weekend. Also... the thought of trooping alone without a spotter is kinda scary... I don't think too many 501 from So Cal are coming up... only 1 that I know of. But I am still going to "try" to come, perhaps I won't bring my armor but will wear my Jedi Robes. If I brought armor I'd have to either drive up there, or ship it up there a few days before I arrived anyway. So I guess what I am trying to say is put me down as a "maybe."

It sounds like a blast. I'm already going to be in Palo Alto with a group of college friends for lunch already Saturday though. I doubt I could get them to stop by. Besides, I'm sure the SW men would have no interest in meeting my sorority sisters anyway. I'll be with you all in spirit.

Hope you can come MJF! I went to Grand Slam last year and it was a blast, have fun for all of us up here!

 

I won't be able to make it. I have to go up to Marysville for my little brother's b-day.
