We should go ahead and start this thread. Even though they moved the weekend it still falls on a work weekend for me so I won't be there, but I know quite a few of our family go so share your plans and let me live vicarously through you.
Um, not far enough away for me to finish my Stealth X? It's he last weekend in May, with that Sunday being June 1st. So, May 30-June 1.
Oh yeah: So they have the new "prop" category up and running, I still really think a lot of you guys could win an award with some of your stuff. I wish Nocturnis would enter in his Chiss Saber Hilt-- foe example.
"may" try to make it. no promises. also, as always Jammies, my offer still stands. 10 fifths of Bacardi 151, one new york style cheesecake, and one red velvet cake, no questions asked, and you can win. make it 12 bottles and you'll win every category.
Lord Bane and myself plan on being there. I might have a surprise person with me... we will see. Also... we may have our Star Wars Swarray this weekend. Rent a hotel room for Saturday night the 31st and host it. Keep the fingers crossed for that one.
Besides buying several bottles of rum? Not sure yet, kinda stressing out to get something finished. My "trench run" dio isn't happening, but maybe the Fett man will make an appearance. They have a prop category, so, any of you all with some cool custom sabers or blasters should enter them in!
Not that I toke that many to be interesting, but here are some work in progress pics of Vader and his Wingman. Sorta. Maybe I will take more pics this week as things come together. Or, maybe it will be a surprise. Also, I gotta buy more rum. Only up to 8 bottles (7 fiths and a handle).
Crushinator....i knida like the sound of that. that may be my new middle name. Vox "The Crushinator" Deamonicus. has a nice ring to it.
Our apologies for missing this years Wonderfest. Despite our best efforts, it just wasn't meant to be. .. sigh. My Jammies, does that post mean you won with your entry??? Does it????
picture page: http://kitbash.net/wf2014/ my models: http://kitbash.net/wf2014/DSCN1800.JPG http://kitbash.net/wf2014/DSCN1747.JPG (this was the winner!) http://kitbash.net/wf2014/DSCN1746.JPG Well, they all are winners-- but Lord Vader took home the hardwear! And, out of all of the Vader's TIEs that were out on the contest tables (and there were several) mine really was the best built and most accurately painted. I'm pretty happy to be winning awards again, especially in a year where they stopped giving out "Merit" awards, and overall gave out less Bronze, Silvers, and only gave out a Gold if they thought a kit granted it-- if not no Gold in that category. Also, this year had a record number of kits, maybe 700? So, I dun good. MTFBWY Jammies I will say, I am pretty sure that "snap tite guy" is back and somehow also took home 2 awards. I'll talk to someone "higher up" if my hunch is right. Possible award winning "models" (snaptite, meaning pre-painted and no glue, just snap and enter into the contest. Sure, Most of my kits are pre-painted snaptites, but I take off the pre-paint and the snaps and actually build and paint it, because I am not eight.) http://kitbash.net/wf2014/DSCN1905.JPG http://kitbash.net/wf2014/DSCN1906.JPG I mean, you all can tell those are toys not models right? Well, whatever, my kits got in and my Bronze award on the mantle.
That's awesome news! Well done! I'll buy you a beverage of your choice tonight at book club to celebrate. Aww...don't clue them in on "snap tite guy". I was going to enter my Star Wars Xwing miniature game Tantive. I picked one up this week and it is lovely. I'll try and remember to bring it tonight.
