Lit Wookieepedia, the Star Wars wiki

Well, there's this.

 

I suppose it depends on how many people are that interested in it.

I mean, I'm not going to throw stones here for that - I've got years of cataloging various story universes behind me - but I have a feeling that many of them would quickly fade and die.

 

Why? Many games or game series, especially online games, have their own dedicated wikis. After all, Wookieepedia itself only covers the lore, while dedicated game wikis can cover a lot more, like game features, gameplay elements, walkthroughs, events, updates, etc. Wookieepedia is a general SW information source, while game wikis are more like very detailed game guides for the people who actually play the game.

 

And that's why the TOR wiki became an official friend of Wookieepedia! A fun history lesson.

 

I didn't mean a wiki about Star Wars Racers (the game), I did mean a wiki about Poracers (the thing).

 

I demand a wiki about the TPM game.

 

I'll get started on the Mat Rags pages. Every article of clothing and uttered absurdity needs a page.

Oh, I know. My reply was about the TOR and CWA wikis. I too don't really see the need for a separate podracer wiki, but as Wikia gives virtually everyone the option to open their own wiki about any topic, I'm not surprised at the amount of tiny deserted wikis that someone somwhere once thought were good ideas.

And the last update is David Hasslehoff. "In the 1999 film Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menace, Hasslehoff was set to play the pod racing character Odie Arbuckle. However, his scenes were cut, as George Lucas discovered that Hasslehoff did not like being replaced with a 12-foot-tall maroon grasshopper."

 

..."Odie Arbuckle"? For reals?

 

Something tells me this isn't quite verified.

Maybe they mean nothing at all. This wiki clearly is abandoned, and it is a joke page made by some anon.

 

I don't edit wikis unless I'm taking out something racist*, so maybe someone who does could help the site sort out whether Russ Helm is Archie Goodwin or not.


*Thankfully haven't encountered that on the Wookieepedia

 

I'm wondering if the upcoming Ultimate Star Wars book will make a big difference to the amount of detail various Canon pages get.

Not a bad amount of locations after less than a year with the new canon.

 

So am I the only one who thinks the Wook's April Fool's jokes about Dave Filoni cross a line? There was one about him getting fired and having to eke out a living as a janitor, another about him having an Ahsoka sex doll, and I think there were more. I never thought someone could be so hated just for making a cartoon?

 

It seems some can justify just about anything.

 

Huh, there was another lousy and offensive Wookieepedia April Fool's joke?

...I suppose that's one more reason for me to support a new Star Wars wiki.

 

I'm not surprised. There's one particular administrator at the Wook who always uses April Fool's Day as an excuse to slander the Dave Filoni page. April Fool's has been out of control on that site since 2012, when it went from a couple of admins putting a joke on the front page to everyone being free to vandalize whatever the hell they want for twenty-four hours. The kind of immaturity that emanates from that site daily is what you get when users with Kim Jong Il-ish cults of personality recruit loyal armies of twelve-year-olds and make them site administrators.

 

What was the first one?

 

If an alternative Star Wars wiki were to be founded, what would be some hypothetical names to throw around? I mean, Wookieepedia is pretty much the perfect name, so I've been at a loss as to what the other one would be called.
