So today I remade the collar piece and both knee prices for AJ's Boba. All out of Worbla. In just about an hour I had them shaped and molded and primed. I wanted to keep going!!

I used craft foam for the center and used the broken pieces to mold and curve. They came out beautifully!! Photos coming soon and I am ordering more Worbla!!!!

My US supplier is sold out of Worbla for now and I imagine after Heroes of Cosplay airs on SYFY tonight, it will be tough to keep it in stock. The roll I have is promised to someone as a result of FAIR TRADE. I will post when she has more in stock for those who are interested.

Just placed my order. Thanks for the link to the second site, Anna. Worked out to about $10 cheaper for 2 extra large rolls. So excited to get started on this!

You should see some of the male costumes made from worbla. I googled some for armor ideas and I am in awe.

That was a great tutorial. I'm starting to get a good feel of what we will need to do. Based on her description, it seems like gesso is a better primer than wood glue. Thoughts?

I few things- GESSO is great - but it takes many layers to make a smooth surface. I have a huge bottle- Ill bring it SUNDAY.
I have never used wood glue- would like to try it. I will acquire some before SUNDAY.

As with anything, they each have their pro's and con's. I think we experiment and see what works best.

She only covers the foam with one sheet of Worbla. I prefer the Worbla sandwich, placing foam in the center. I feel the result is more sturdy and the finishes a little nicer. That is what I plan to do for my Mando.

This tutorial gives a good intro. I'll add more.

Thanks Anna. These are extremely helpful tutorials. I am going to officially abandon my lame attempts at making paper patterns. I'll bring some saran wrap and masking tape to the workshop on Sunday.

I'm going to try on Sunday to have my ignorance of these tutorials not so obvious.
