    World Cup 2006

How can an English Fan Force be without a football thread?
Since the football discussions partially took over the future planning thread, it seemed clear that we are in need for a place where we can talk about the world cup games to our heart?s content.
So, have fun! I?ll be posting the games that are on on the day, as well as the results of previous games. All you need to do is watch the games and comment :D

Times given are German time, which is GMT+1.

I'm not an English footy fan, but go Australia and Ukraine.

Some trivia: This is Australia's first world cup in 32 years...

Yes, and they have a good chance this year, they have some top quality players

Although I worry about their defense

They broke Holland's midfield. A few well placed tackles and Brazil will be completely injured :p

Well, the Holland team has recovered now
So the Aussies don't tackle very hard :p

If they can injure Brazil enough to guarantee victory for themselves and Japan I'll be happy :p

    Come on England!

I'm gonna try and get work near the TV department at work. Thank God this is the only England game that I'll be at work for.

I don't have a TV, so either I'm gonna invite myself at the neighbours or listen via radio. But England is SO gonna win!

    Well, England are winning
But they seem to have a monster referee, so I hope he's not gonna send people off for minor things

Sweden aren't doing as well as they should either
With all those quality players I would expect them to do better

Although Hislop is playing very well
