To clarify, the World Fantasy Convention will be held Oct 31 - Nov 2 2008 at the Hyatt Regency ([link=http://www.worldfantasy2008.org]www.worldfantasy2008.org[/link])

There was a fund raiser Book Fair [link=http://slashboing.blogspot.com/2006/12/december-events-calender.html]held on the 9th[/link] for the World Fantasy convention.

I picked up a copy of [link=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperial_Earth]Imperial Earth[/link] and a paperback "The Hobbit."

It really isn't that kind of convention. Apparently your membership to the con is revoked if you wear a costume.

It's a professional writing convention, meaning writers and artists get to network with each other, agents, and editors.

You don't have to be a writer to attend. You can certainly be a fan of the written word - especially the fantastically written word :). And I happen to be one of those...
