I love what they've done to Stark but... HULK SMASH PUNY IRON MAN!!! [face_alien_1]

I want to see him battle Sentry, but you already know that.

I'm honestly not as pumped for this as I could be. Don't get me wrong: I love MM. But JRJR is one of my least favorite artists working today.

Ditto. I'd love to see the Hulk put a beating on everybody, but John Jr. is just bad. I've seen how he does Hulk, and I hate it.

Is Planet Hulk available as a trade yet? I would imagine getting that out there for new readers to catch up on would be important to this event for Marvel.

I'm not pumped for it either. Because Greg Pak is a horrible writer and Marvel events have all sucked lately. The exception is Annihilation.

Greg Pak has done wonders for Incredible Hulk with Planet Hulk. He has a few spots on his record with the Phoenix stuff, but he really delivered with Planet Hulk. The character hasn't been this interesting in years. As for Romita, I think he's alright. Hulk has a very distinctive look now, which he will have to adapt to, so I think it'll be fine.

Not sure when exactly it'll be released but it's already on pre-sale on Amazon.com and such.

Peter David has been writing him the last couple of years

His Hulk is the Best Hulk.

David is probably the definitive Hulk writer, but Pak's stuff has been awesome. Planet Hulk is fantastic.

And what's with the Romita Jr. hate? His recent work in Sentry and Eternals is just fantastic.

Agreed. JRJ has been picking up too much flack on this thread. Sure, some of his art just doesn't work with some characters, but he knows how to give the green-goliath the proper brutish appearance!

Ok, I have not been paying attention. If I wanted to understand all of this what are the issues I need to pick up? Is this Planey Hulk a separate series?

No, it's part of the regular third Incredibly Hulk series. Issues 92 to 105 specifically, though issues 88 to 101 deal with the setup to Planet Hulk as well.

I'm not that interested in this event since i don't follow hulk. I'll buy the cores series, but i'm not picking up any of the special tie ins and such.

It aint hate, it's personal preference.

JRJR's art looks like something out of the 60s, and not in a good way. It's possible to have great retro art - Darwin Cooke is proof of that. JRJR's characters look flat out ugly, especially the women. Certainly my least favorite prolific artist.

I can see raven's points. I don't love JRJ, but i don't really dislike his stuff either. He's a good choice for an event book, because he's consistant.

Honestly JRJR is probably my fave artist outside of his father and Alex Ross, but being Spiderfan I am biased. His work may not be the most vissually appealing at first but I fell in love with how he vissually tells his stories very quickly. To me his art looks not like people posing, but "found" moments, which heightens the action and brings it to life IMO.

Alec Ross is quite possibly the only prolific artist whose work I dislike more than JRJR. His art makes Kingdom Come quite a chore for me to try to read through, and after two issues of Justice I gave up.

I love Alex Ross, he's one of my favourite artists. I love his Superman. Kindom Come is a gem. I wish Marvel would hire him to do more than just covers every once in a while.

I can't wait for this to hit stands. I usually don't care about many Marvel titles but saw the preview for this in Wizard and yeah the thought makes my inner child happy.
