Generally, British actors attempting an American accent. Worse than the other way around. They sound like they have some sort of tongue disease, like some evil creature lives inside their nose.

 

Both. But yes, Brummie is my choice of real worst accent. I don;t know how a Brummie can listen to themselves talk and not want to end it all.

 

I disagree. The reversal is much worse.

 

Christian Bale isn't bad. Ewan MacGregor is terrible.

And the biggest thing I notice with other Anglophones attempting American accents is that they over-enunciate. Hugh Laurie, for example, was plenty convincing at first blush but once I noticed it I couldn't un-notice.

 

What about the British cast of the Wire? I gather Elba's accent was flawless?
