well... im looking at learning wotc's rule set, i have the original core rulebook, but it isn't in the same country as me at the moment (half way round the world, literally ;) ), and im on amazon at the moment... browsing [face_mischief]

what i'd like to know is... does the revised core rule book actually help teach you how to play, or does it assume you've read the original core rulebook and just go over what's been changed?

The RCR is a complete game; you don't need the original core rulebook to use it. And it's worth it, it's MUCH better.

Even more: the firsts paragraphs of each chapter tells you what has changed from the OCR.

Good choice. The RCRB is a big improvement over the first version.
