ST Would a kid who has never seen the previous movies be able to follow TFA?

    I think it would still be ideal to at least show them ANH and ROTJ, if you have time to watch anything but only enough for two. Then verbally give them the background of events before ANH and what happens in TESB (I love TESB, but as the middle chapter of that trilogy it could be skipped when the primary goal is providing context and background before heading in to TFA). Then, after ROTJ, just tell them "the new movie happens 30 years after that one."

    In short, yes. The biggest issue may be the emphasis on Luke Skywalker, but that is by no means crucial to the plot.

    Yeah, I don't see why not. Watching the OT (at least) helps to know all the OT3 and the context for their actions (ex: Han & Chewie's connection to the Millennium Falcon, Luke's importance). I think anyone would be fine though for the most part.

    Yes they should be able to follow along fine. They also may enjoy it even more so because they have no preconceived notions of what "should" happen.
