Anakin's reason for joining the sith was to protect Padme, luke and leia's mom, from dying in childbirth, after having visions of her dying through the Force. After mace windu died, even though anakin regretted what had happened, he decided to follow him and became darth vader, so he could get the power to save Padme from the darkside.

There were other factors too-his mother recently died, he didn't like that the Jedi didn't make him a Master, he distrusted the Jedi council and the Jedi in general, etc. Without those other factors, would Anakin still have turned to the darkside and joined the Empire, or not? Was one or two particular factors important? Or was it just Padme? If the jedi made him a master, he had a better relationship with the Jedi, or if his mother didn't die, would he have turned to the darkside?

No, he wouldn't have. There were a ton of factors related to Anakin's fall, he didn't go out and seek the dark side from the beginning like Exar Kun.

-He left his mother and Qui-Gon died so he felt absolutely alone in the galaxy for a good chunk of his life.
-His mother died in his arms, after he was repeated told to dismiss his visions as dreams. Which he blamed on Obi-Wan and the Jedi. This also caused him to trust his visions above all else. So when Yoda tells him "learn to let go of that which you fear to lose" the literal translation to Anakin is: Let Padme die. The one thing he would never be able to do.
-He became frustrated with the Jedi way of life and not being able to publicly proclaim his love for Padme
-During the war the Sith manipulated events around him, causing him to make life or death decisions more characteristic of a heartless general than a Jedi (e.g. Jabiim)
-Despite being the most powerful living Jedi the Council would not grant him the rank of Master
-By the war's end he had become a political pawn between Palpatine and the Jedi, this frustrated and isolated him even more from the Jedi. If you notice in ROTS he refers to Jedi as "they" instead of "us", for a good chunk of the film he no longer considers himself part of the Jedi Order despite being a "good guy"

I think the combination of all these things caused Anakin's downfall. It's not so apparent in ROTS, but if you read the novelization you get a much better feeling of how Anakin's world has come crashing down on him and he has nowhere to turn except to the shadow.

I agree that anakin didnt seek it out from the begginng. It makes more sense that way.

If anakin became a Jedi master would he have fallen to the darkside?

If his mother lived would he have fallen to the darkside?

Are you saying that if the jedi allowed marriage, anakin wouldnt become vader?
