Would Anakin have turned to the dark side if Padme' had died before ROTS? If Jango or the Nexu killed her, what would Anakin do? Would he be so fueled with rage after her death that he would've turned anyway or would Anakin control his rage and now, with nothing but the temptation of power to turn him, remain a Jedi, become a master, and eventually destroy the Sith?

To be fair, though, search functions are very limited in trying to find things such as entire themes. They can find keywords, but that's about it.

Anakin would've been very violent, but he wouldn't have the full reasons to embrace the Dark Side. Just enough to get super mad, before burning out. Palpatine needs to seduce Anakin with the allure of power and Anakin needs a reason to embrace the power. To go against the core beliefs of his mother and the Jedi Code. Dooku wanted to embrace the Dark Side, but Anakin was reluctent until he was left with no choice.

Yep. I just can't imagine Anakin turning to the Dark Side (or at least, becoming the Emperor's apprentice) if there was no longer a need for power to save Padme.

I mean, in his anger, he could have edged over to the Dark Side for a few moments, but not become completely consumed by it.

How is that NOT what he did with the Tuskens?
    Anakin's turn began in AOTC...

It was his destiny, that's all I can say. It was meant for him to turn no matter what.

It wasn't Anakin's destiny. He choose to make the mistake. One that could be easily avoided had he made an effort to let go of his attachment.

It was his destiny. It would have occured, the prophecy I'm saying,
    regardless of his decisions.
If he'd stayed on Tatooine and continued that life,
he'd have probably had a tragic pod racing accident
on Malistair later in life, accidentally killing the Emperor,
who was in attendance cause man, he sure loved that there podracing.
it's the will of the force.

This is why I loathe the destiny element.
As an existentialist, I don't believe hooey about prophecy,
I believe a great deal in making free decisions.

Hmmm, I think we have a Han Solo persona here.

"There's no mystical energy field that controls my destiny." ?Han Solo

The Force lays out the destiny, but it's up to the individual to choose to follow it or not. Anakin was given a moment to fulfill his destiny, but he chooses to abandon his destiny out of selfishness and greed. In the end, he chooses to save his son's life, which as a by-product allows him to fulfill his destiny.

It's funny you phrased it as such because
I've sort of always looked at it from the opposite angle.
In the end, he fulfills his destiny which as a by product
allows him to save his son.

It was his destiny. The chosen one was destined to fall one way or the other and embrace the dark side and become the strongest jedi ever.
