Lit Would Dr Evazan "Roofoo" qualify as the Character who's survival has been retconned most?

Ackbar is his 90's and still actively serving. Maybe Mon Mothma is a retired senator quietly funneling support to Leia. I'd love that to be the case. That, or she dies young, as many hardworking leaders do often go before their time. Maybe a peaceful, quiet end when the galaxy is at peace is most fitting of all.

I think there's actually one or two more in there; in Galaxy of Fear #2 Dr. Evazan is killed by Boba Fett, but revived by his own reanimation serum. He is then apparently killed again under mysterious circumstances at the end of the book, but it appears this was intended to be permanent. (The reanimation serum was counteracted by the heroes.) The old Databank had him survive this encounter, retconning the ending somewhat, so that he could survive after the battle of Endor. I think this was in reference to some other obscure source that had him alive post Endor; most of the other stories he was involved in could easily fit before Galaxy of Fear.

Yup. This was facilitated by Tagge's semi-split personality; the ANH novel gave him lines and attitude that in the film ended up with Motti. In the novel, Tagge is the one who is arrogant and challenges Vader, whereas in the film Tagge is the cautious one. The original Marvel comics used the novel's characterization, so the retcon explained a lot of things. (Another fun thread might be characters that owe their very existence to retcons!)

Wut? I never got that impression about Aphra. Also Vader is just using her, he does not care at all about her. He is on his second attempt in killing her right now.

Well for a guy who strangled his pregnant wife, tortured his daughter and sliced his sons hand off, that would be considered consistent behaviour ;)

I was not entirely serious btw

That actually would make a lot of sense. I wonder how many girlfriends Vader gets and kills before ROTJ.

I will say in defence of Vader that when you've been raised by a guy who declares he"s his brother and loves him while watching him burn to death, his sense of what constitutes love and affection will be a bit skewed to say the least

And - Dr Evazan is back - going by the newcanon Character Encyclopaedia - which says that after the fight, he tried to reattach Ponda's arm, but failed, nearly killing him in the process.

And I thought the Death Star sizes were prone to "back and forth retcons" - but Evazan's survival/unsurvival of that fight seems to beat it.

While Fantasy Flight is, for now (*cough*beforesomeoneinstorygroupslipsup*cough*), non-canon, their recent update today includes an interesting image of Dr. Evazan's lab. But of course for all we know, this could be his cosmetic surgery gig mentioned in TCW. BTW, someone should totally retcon him with the two Frigosian cosmetic specialists in Face of Evil. MAYBE THEY'RE THE ONES WHO BRING HIM BACK? HE FILLS HIS VICTIMS FULL OF DREAD, DR. EVAZAN LIVES AGAINNNN
