Do you have a real camera crew and sound stage and all that jazz?

I have some real good friends, an old church building (maybe), and no jazz.

    ;) 8-}

What kind of camera are you using?

PS how much do you know about John Leguizamo's character in Moulin Rouge? Cause I'm really confused, was he a real person? I know there was another movie made about him back in the 50's I think.

darkOmegazer0: I'm using one of my bud's cameras. She volunteered to be my cameraperson if I would be her main actress, so...

Yes, Tulouse was a real person way back in the day... but I think the MR people just took the original guy (read: name and height) and created a charecter to fit the movie.

skywalker325: Thanx for the support! More details as they come! I can't wait to get started... *waits for paycheck so she can go out and get costumes*

Sure it would of Helped wouldn't everyone want to see Hayden and Natalie singing to each other ?? well Natalie is no Nicole Kidman but hey she can learn. Speaking of Nicole teaching Natalie that could happen when they start making Cold Mountain.

    Howdy there, ya'll...

I STARTED FILMING TODAY!!!!! *does happy dance*
    :D :D :D :D :D

I've decided that (due to time constraints) that my short little movie will now be a short little music video. It'll be Flashbacca's Jedi Dogs, same words, but changing the characters around a bit. If I have extra time, I may do Like a Jedi, but that's looking really iffy right now.

The Jedi fight scene at the end of Jedi Dogs kicks some major tail... my friend Layna is a clumsy Jedi and Vader kills her (and Padme, who tries to keep Vader from killing the Jedi), and she utters such inventive curses as "Holy Yoda!" [face_laugh]

Anther week, and I should be done!

*howls in anguish* Sorry, Flashbacca, but it probably won't be done until the spring or summer. Because I started off as it being a semester project, I have to have it completely done and ready to turn in Dec 8.

While that is very close, the movie I made is not the movie I wanted to make. I'm going to rip it to pieces and do it over. So the stupid whatever-I-can-turn-in-for-a-grade-because-the-teacher-couldn't-
tell-a-good-fanfilm-from-a-reek movie will be done Dec 8, but the really nifty Moulin Musical will take a bit longer.

*cries* I don't want to wait.... but I want it to be good, so... :_| I must wait.

darkOmegazerO: Tulouse was a real person. He was an artist in the 1800's I think. There are paintings of the Moulin Rouge by him. There was a movie made in 1952 called "Moulin Rouge" and even though I'm not quite sure what it's about, I think it's about him.

Interesting fact: It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture and Baz Luhrman's "Moulin Rouge" was nominated exactly 50 years later. Cool, huh?

    Great Job everyone!

I only just found this thread today and let me say that Ihave never laughed so hard or so much in a span of 4 - 5 hours in my life. You people are amazing. I heart you all. Anyway, necessary grovveling aside, here's my contribution. It's not Moulin Rouge (which, BTW, is my most favorite movie of all time), but earlier in this thread (I admit, waaaaaay earlier), some people were submitting parodies from the Sound of Music and other Broadway musical type shows. So I went to a Hammerstein lyrics page and went a little crazy with this fun little ditty from "Oklahoma!" It's quite long and-- *that hysterical first scene with Christian and Satine enters mind...reacts accordingly* Oh, um, yeah. Uhh...Hope you enjoy it...

SETTING: A celebratory gathering in a Naboo palace (where everything else happens). It seems unclear what everybody (and I mean, everybody!) is celebrating and doesn't get any clearer while they sing this song to the tune of "The Farmer and the Cowman."

    DEX:
Oh, the Sith Lord and the Jedi should be friends
Oh, the Sith Lord and the Jedi should be friends
One man thrives on pure evil
The other tries to be civil
But that's no reason why they can't be friends

    Interg'lactic folks should stick together
Interg'lactic folks should all be pals
    Jedi dance with Sith apprentice,
Siths dance with the Jedi Knights

    ALL:
    Interg'lactic folks should stick together
Interg'lactic folks should all be pals
    Jedi dance with Sith apprentice,
Siths dance with the Jedi Knights

    DOOKU:
I'd like to say a word for the Sith

    PADME:
    Well, say it!

    DOOKU:
We reappeared, Jedi couldn't predict it

    MACE:
You came back and made a lot of allies

    OBI-WAN:
And turned them all against our grand Republic

NUTE GUNRAY *to Padme, suddenly, as if he just thought of something he'd been meaning to ask her*:
Why don't you just die like you should have in the last 2 movies?

    PADME:
I've got just as much right to be here as you! *beat* Besides, I need to make kids with Anakin before I die or else it wouldn't tie in with the original trilogy.

    NUTE:
    Oh. Ok.

    DOOKU:
Shut up! *clears throat to sing again*
The Sith Lord is a good and truthful citizen
No matter what the Jedi tell their Padawans
It's not his place to be drinkin' in a night club

    ANAKIN:
'Cause that role's reserved special just for Obi-Wan!

*Obi-Wan glares at Anakin, who is laughing until he looks at Obi-Wan, at which point he stops abruptly and coughs.*

    ALL EXCEPT ANAKIN:
Oh, the Sith Lord and the Jedi should be friends
Oh, the Sith Lord and the Jedi should be friends
    One man desires an empire
    The other defends the Republic
But that's no reason why they can't be friends

    Interg'lactic folks should stick together
Interg'lactic folks should all be pals
    Jedi dance with Sith apprentice,
Siths dance with the Jedi Knights

    PADME:
I'd like to say a word for the Jedi

    PALPY:
*sighs and rolls eyes* You would, wouldn't you?

    PADME:
The road he walks is difficult and lonely
They train for years on end
With just their Master for a friend

    MACE *to Anakin*:
I sure am feeling sorry for your Master!

*Anakin crosses his arms and sulks in his chair*

    PADME:
The Sith Lord should be friendly with the Jedi
He only tries to save our old Republic
Don't try to make him turn
He may forget all that he's learned

    YODA *to Anakin*:
Mind shields, be sure you put up, Anakin!

    PALPY: *spoken*
Why would you want to be a Jedi anyway?

    MACE: *spoken...well, yelled*
You only wish you were one so you'd get a bigger paycheck!

*Chaos ensues as everyone offends each other and themselves. Meanwhile, Dooku and Palpy stand off by themselves in a corner, obviously conspiring something sinister.*

HANDMAIDENS *sitting on a nearby counter, clapping their hands in time to the music and enjoying the "show"*:
Oh, the Sith Lord and the Jedi should be friends
Oh, the Sith Lord and the Jedi should be friends
One man thrives on pure evil
The other tries to be civil
But that's no reason why they can't be friends

I agree. It might have worked better. Then again, if Padme saw the video, she might have gone for Obi instead.

At least until she saw him sing "The Hills are Alive with the Sound of Music" and the "Can-Can"

Hmm...*contemplating new take on "In the End"* I can see this slightly differently, astroana. (Yeah, I know what I'm replying to was posted in...July. So sue me.)

    In the End

    Linkin Park

    (Through Obi-Wan's eyes)

    It starts with one thing
    I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try

(Obi-Wan made every effort to train Anakin as a Jedi)

Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
    to explain in due time
    All I know
    Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
watch it count down to the end of the day
    The clock ticks life away

(The republic is counting down it's final days)

    It's so unreal
    Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Trying to hold on but didn't even know
Wasted it all just to watch you go

(Obi-Wan "wasted" ten+ years just to watch Anakin turn to the dark side)

I kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when

    I tried so hard
    And got so far
but in the end, it doesn't even matter
I had to fall to lose it all
But in the end, it doesn't even matter

(Despite Obi-Wan's efforts, Anakin still turns, and the Republic still falls)

One thing, I don't know why
Doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind I designed this rhyme
    to remind myself how
    I tried so hard

(This is where perception becomes different. At this point, I see this as Anakin's turn. How he tried to please the Jedi but couldn't seem to do it.)

In spite of the way you were mocking me
Acting like I was part of your property
Remembering all the times you fought with me
I'm surprised it got so far

(Anakin thinking about Obi-Wan and the Jedi Council.)

Things aren't the way they were before
You wouldn't even recognize me anymore
Not that you knew me back then but it
all comes back to me in the end

(Anakin is a completely changed man by now. Nobody would recognize Darth Vader as Anakin Skywalker unless they knew him before he turned, and even those few can hardly recognize him. And it all comes back to him in the end, because he brings balance to the Force.)

You kept everything inside and even though
I tried it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when
I put my trust in you
Pushed as far as I can go
    For all this there's only
    One thing you should know

(Anakin trusted Obi-Wan and later feels betrayed by him.)

Hmm. *contemplating again* I say we make a collection Star Wars music videos with all these songs after Ep III comes out. :)

Is it just me or does it seem like the Kaminoans watched Moulin Rouge before approaching Jango about the cloning?

    "Can't describe this great event
    You'll be dumb with wonderment
    With ratings fixed at 10%
    You must admit that's excellent
And on top of your fee
    You'll be involved artistically..."

Especially those last 2 lines. Haha. Maybe it is just me...
