Would it have helped Obi-Wan if Anakin had seen him in Moulin Rouge?

    I love this thread. Backflipping Clonetroopers who bust out into song. Jedis who dance with their lightsabers.....

    Obi-Wan--YOU'LL BE EXSPELLED FROM THE ORDER!

    Anakin--I must help Padme!

    Obi-Wan--WHAT WOULD PADME DO?

    Anakin--Her..duty.

    Obi-Wan--Aw what the hell. Go to her. Love is a many spedered thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love!

    Anakin--Master are you feeling alright?

    Obi-Wan--I sense your power it's stronger than love itself.

    Anakin--Coursant to Obi-Wan what are you talking about?

    Obi-Wan--She don't love you...I mean the sitar player.

    Anakin--I should not have come back!

    don't you see? Anakin just didn't have the moves. Look at the "Elephant love song medley in Moulin Rouge ("In the Name of Love," "Silly Love Songs," "Love lifts us upwhere we belong," "We could be heroes"). That scene in MR sold me on their romance.

    Imagine that if Anakin began singing that medley in the meadow, then hopped onto that Shaak and began singing "Love lifts us up where we belong" with Padme yelling for him to get down from there.

    That's we need: Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Musical Clones.

    Then Palpatine doing his review before the senate to give them an idea of what's in store for them (I spent close to an hour agonizing over this, hope you appreciate it):

    You will see-

    The Empire, The Empire! That term will never ex-pi-re,
    (wsh-shshsh)
    None will stop this forceful brink,
    (wsh-shshsh)
    You'll be powerless to think,
    You'll all agree with Jar-Jar Binks,
    and then you'll ask "what DID I think?"

    And thanks to that Gungan's lip, you'll start a dic-ta-tor-shiiiip!

    So exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So inciting it will last for 60 years
    so exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So delighting it will last for 60 years

    Clonetroopers with rifle-clips, AT-TE's and drop ships, shaped like a triangle wedge, to the planet's very edge;
    Created on Kamino too, with the help of Lama Su, from a man named Jango Fett, are we having fun just yet!?

    So exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So inciting it will last for 60 years
    so exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So delighting it will last for 60 years

    The Empire the Empire those words will never expire,
    You'll be in a bloody fix
    Til Palpy's killed in number 6!

    The Siiiiiith, are aliiiiive, and controlling yoooou alllll!

    So exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So inciting it will last for 60 years
    so exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So delighting it will last for Siiiiiix-tyyyyyyyy yeeeeeeears!

    The Senator and Anakin, are pulled apart by an evil plan;
    While she gives birth to twins who hide, He submits to join the Daaaark Siiiide!

    So exciting the senate will all stop and cheer
    So inciting it will last for 60 years!

    Luke who's really Vader's son, helps redeem the Evil One,
    While ol' Palpy rants and spits, Vader throws him down a pit!

    So exciting, 3 years to go for Episode III,
    So delighting-
    -And what about the DVDs?

    (suddenly, everyone grows silent, then-)'

    So exciting the senate will all stop and cheer,
    So delighting it will last for Siiiiiix-tyyyyyyyy yeeeeeeears!

    Please, tell me what you think! I'm kind of thinking of making it into a flash animation now.

    Oh my god that was great! (way to go uruseramna) A "Spectacular Spectacular" number would have been perfect for the Senate scene! It convinced the Duke didn't it? :D

    I just thought of the lyrics to "Nature Boy," but couldn't those lyrics also symbolize Boba Fett?

    Think of the lyrics

    There was a boy
    A very strange
    Enchanted boy
    They say he wandered
    Very far, very far
    Over land and sea
    A little shy and sad of eye

    It sounds like it fits Boba just perfectly.

    The real question is... why didn't they place Yoda in Moulin Rouge, or Toulouse in AOTC?!?

    I'm not sure which would be funnier, a little green Toulouse or John Leguizamo in Star Wars, both speaking in someting vaguely resembling English :D

    by the way, I will never hear Orpheus the same way again after that reset higher up on the page. :D

    much better than:
    And you can tell everybody, this was your father's lightsaber
    It may be quite simple but, it was an elegant weapon for a more civilized age
    I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, he was the best starpilot in the galaxy
    He was a cunning warrior, and a-a good fri-end...

    Looks like I created a monster with this thread! I always thought of Dooku as the Duke and maybe Jango as the guy with the gun.

    How about Padme crooning Lady Marmalade with Zam and Dorme?

    Padme definately has the costuming for a "Lady Marmelade" number at a time or two during the film.

    Perhaps she could duet "Heroes" with Anakin while being carted off for execution.

    I just had to register so I could say that I absolutely love this thread. I'm a Moulin Rouge fan, and a Ewan fan, thereby a Star Wars fan. I loved Attack of the Clones.

    You guys are really funny. Glad to find more fans out there. :)

    This thread shall not die in vain! Above all things I belive in this thread! This thread is my oxygen, this thread is a many splendored thing, I shall lift it up where it belongs, all you need is this thread!

    Now, come on people, will someone challenge my song-writing abilities? I'm still formulating versions of Lady Marmalade and Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend. Your Song and Like a Virgin are also possibilities (like a Jedi sounds like it might be my next thought work, as I have the remnants of an earlier version on page 2).

    This is the greatest thread :)
    Don't forget either that Padme could sing, "The show must go on.." After she falls out of the ship onto the sand..after all..she would "Do her duty" as Anakin stated..
    I could also see her singing the reprise of "Come what may" to Anakin as they go out into the arena..remember the reprise words..."come back and I'll give you everything" :)
    And I just want to say that this is my second day ever using this board and I LOVE IT...great input, feedback and opinions..you guys are great :)

    *Sigh* I'm in need of something green and potent to help inspire me...

    No, not Yoda! I was thinking of something alcoholic :) Maybe that way I could think of a song re-write. I did try to re-write EP1 as a musical, (It was going to be called 'Calamity Jinn') but I got as far as Obi-Wan singing "Just got back from the Gungan City" and it kinda died a death. :(

    BTW, loved all the Moulin Rouge take-offs here! If anyone wishes, feel free to add them to our humble collection:

    Star Wars Songbook

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Anakin: Master Obi-Wan knows what he's talking about...he's done this all before. Er, right...
    (Shuffles notes)
    I can't breathe! I'm haunted by the kiss you should never have given me...voulez-vous couche avec moi, ce' soir?
    (Padme hits him on the nose)
    Anakin: It's not my fault!
    Maybe in the next one Padme could do a variation of Leader of the Pack except it could be Leader of the Sith.
