Would Star Wars be influenced by todays culture if Episode IV was released this year for the very 1st time?

Would it be different in contrast to the pop culture of the 2000's?

    For example...

Would Han Solo sport dual blasters John Woo style?

Would Luke be referred to as The One?

Would Chewies sonic treatment in ROTJ raise an eyebrow from PETA?

Would the realization that Luke and Leia were sis and bro produce more of a "kinky", than a "yuck" compared to empahtic "yuck" as opposed to "kinky" when you realized they locked lips in Empire?

Would the scene when Chewie takes out the fleeing Biker Scout with his bowcaster in ROTJ been severly slowed down like Trinity Falls in The Matrix: Reloaded?

By the way Han would "still" shoot 1st.

No, but that is an interesting concept!

I think today's pop culture is too flooded with "icons" to have the same kind of impact that "Star Wars" had in 1977. Not only was it groundbreaking in the world of special effects...but the sci-fi genre (and most other films) was soooo bogged down, that audiences were starving for a epic story where the good guys win! There are too many things claiming to be "the next Star Wars" that nobody can get excited beyond a couple weeks.

    Very true...

When I was brainstorming for how they would do something that resembles today's style of cinema I found it very difficult to think of anything due to the fact that you can't perfect perfection.

So everything else is an imitation.

that depends would we still have the special effects that we have today. alot of them would not be here if anh. did not come out in 1977, therefore not having the same efect on us
