I'd buy it, even just to laugh at.

What would be great is a DVD set with all 6 movies/extras/commentaries, etc., as well as the Holiday Special, all Droids and Ewoks episodes, the Ewoks movies, the Clone Wars episodes, and a butt-load of Kenner commercials. Ahhh, to dream...

It's so bad that I would have to have it. The weird scene at the end where Han is talking to Chewie 1 inch from his face is...I dont know really puzzling? And when he fakes out that stormtrooper on the porch at Chewies house, so bad I laugh for like an hour afterwards. I always wondered why Lucas was so adament about hating it until I saw it-it was actually worse then he described it.

But, at its core, the holiday special actually had some cool points. It showed part of Vader's search for the rebels responsible for destroying the death star and stuff. Things like that make the holiday special interesting.

Nope (unless it was packaged with some other Star Wars television programming).

Lucas will not release the Holiday special on DVD.
    Period, end of discussion.
Can't you guys understand that Lucas genuinely thinks the show is a disgrace and can't stand it?

I don't know. SKot Kirkwood (aka the starwarsholidayspecial.com creator) has played a large role in the push for a release.

And, after all these years, I would say Lucas has lightened up some, and will drop the hammer. It's not below him.

Its bad but I would buy it.

Yeah, we all would buy it, whether we watch it or not, just to say we own a copy.

As bad as it was, it's still better than AOTC.

I don't know about you guys, but watching Wookiees talk to each other for about 15-20 minutes straight without any subtitles? Where's the blaster carbine? I'm going to wrap my lips around the business end of it!!

Well, it was the same situation with the ewok films.

I have seen the Holiday Special. I'd buy it just for novelty purposes and to watch it every now and then for a change of pace.

    Heck yes I'd buy it!

I remember watching it when it aired originally! To me, it's as much a part of the SW legacy as the films.

Also, it's great G-rated entertainment, so my 4-year old daughter can join in on the SW fun with me!

Uh, I'm not so sure about that. Do you remember the Diahann Caroll hologram/Itchy masturbation scene? I'm not sure what rating that would give it. Other than that, everything else is basically G-rated. [face_sick]
