wow do they ban scalpers at rebelscum?

i admitted i was a casual scalper and then i found myself banned when i checked it just now,
what gives?

Because everyone hates scalpers, they ruin the hobby for people.

 

If you hadn't noticed, there's no love for scalpers here either!

 

and by buying up all the toys to resell to "collectors" it deprives kids of having the toys for themselves.

So what happens when those kids grow up and in 20 years have a disposable income? They don't want to buy Star Wars toys because there is no nostalgia value in it for them. They never played with those toys, and the scalper just shot himself in the foot a second time.

No, Walmart is a seller, the people they buy from are distributors, if they don't get it right from the source, this is called the primary market.

You buying up stuff to sell it again is secondary market, where the main purpose is to deprive others from having it at retail price so that they then have to buy it from you for a high mark up.

 

You're not going to win this argument here, DM. I'd suggest you not bring up the issue anymore if you want to be able to post comfortably. You're just digging yourself a deeper hole.

If you sell that figure for the sole purpose of making money for the sake of making money then that is considered scalping.

For those who do not share my belief in the 1st paragraph would be totally shocked to find that during Collecting 101 at Celebration 3 a 3 man panel actually suggested that selling on E-Bay is a good way of diverting the financial strain of collecting and they even further suggested that collectors pay attention to whats hot in other toy lines.

I wouldnt be scalping if i wasn't interested in the stuff myself and collected it myself. so yeah if i find the opportunity the money just goes back into star wars
