Well, considering this is your first post in the South, I fail to see what you're getting at.

Cobra's right, I just checked through. Unless you posted under a different username, this is your first post in the South.

    So welcome here :)

Please don't flame the members here, thanks.

Hi Ewok-Kenobi welcome to the South boards :)

I did notice you posted a thread a while ago, which didn't get any replies. I am not sure whether anyone was able to help and to be honest I wasn't quite sure what you were looking for either. I'd be happy to try and help if you could clarify what you were after.

He did do a thread Cobra, it's still on this board page.
But I don't think it was entirely understood.

Er, can see how that question could go unanswered.

Well, got an answer now - matches, big box of them :) Set fire to your twig and wave it around.

Although, imho, it's safer to buy sparklers ;)

Is that the kind of answer you were looking for?

I am wondering if he means altering a picture of himself so he gets the lightsaber glow - if so, you need something like Photoshop.

And yeah, that thread doesn't appear in the search, but I thought I had seen something by him, and then didn't doubt the power of the search.

Wouldn't that question be better suited to a board that deals with special effects, like the fan film boards?

The best program to use for that would actually be Adobe AfterEffects, if you don't mind shelling out a few grand...

Isn't Adobe AfterEffects for video footage? If he needs a still I'd say PS still :p

After Effects is for video, yes, but it's better for making lightsabers. It's possible on PS, but it's damn hard (for me, anyway :p )

It's all to do with layer affects ;) If you want more technical, let me know.

I can throw effects on all I want, I can never get the right combo. Then again, that might be because Photoshop locked me out due to the fact that it wouldn't accept my 7.0 license to be used on CS2 (Whatever happened to free upgrades?), so now I just make do with Imageready :p
