Amph Writing Contest FIVE. The Authors Strike Back. (Week 3 writing)

I haven't even started yet.

Blame AP classes.

 

Those suck But I'm looking forward to seeing all the entries!!

 

The hard part, I think, is coming up with a premise and at least the basics of the sci-fi fantasy universe you'll be setting it in within one week. I started writing in earnest at school today, so I might make deadline. *crosses fingers*

 

Alrighty. . .I stayed up until 01.30 this morning writing, and now I have. . .454 words.

 

I should finally get to work tonight. I have the idea, characters, and concept all laid out, and with the last of my immediate assignments out of the way I should get something done.

Edited because of realization that I'm handing out identifying information.

 

Okay. . .up to about seven hundred words now. . .

I have the opposite problem, I'm writing too much. I've nearly reached the upper limit and I want to add more.

 

I've settled out nicely at just under the limit.

Now to the polishing

 

Well, I'm almost done with the editing. Halfway, probably, because most of it still needs to be adjusted in the computer. That won't take long though.

Oh, and probably this is a dumb question, but do we have to come up with a title, or will something like 'prologue' or 'chapter 1' do?

 

Title isn't essential but you can add one if you want

All entries are to be PM'd to me due to previous e.mail issues. you can e.mail them to me as well though if you want as my e.mail appears to be OK at the moment but that lives in the land of famous last words.


PM's always work though.

 

I have 1016 words done so far. I think I might actually make deadline.

 

Midnight board time Saturday. . .would that be the very beginning or the very end of tomorrow? If it's the former, I'm screwed. If it's the latter, I'm all right.

How strict are you being with the word limit? I'm worried that it'll be too long.

 

2000 is the "guideline"

I'll accept a little over but don't be excessive. Too much will have to be reflected in the judging.

 

Ok. I'll try and take out a bit more, it's not over by much so it should be very close to the limit.

I've finished it and sent it off. I don't think it's my best work, but I'm proud of it nevertheless.

It's about 11:15 (a.m.) here now. I'll probably have it PMed in about, ummm, five hours I think.

 

I just sent my entry. *whew* I didn't know if I was going to make the deadline.

 

Any ideas when we'll know who's won?

 

I believe that judges are given a week, so probably next weekend.
