Sorry if you don't like wrestling. We do and we can talk about it. Yes it's fake but I really don't care. If you don't like it you shouldn't have posted here. Have a nice day.

Who else is sick of seeing these matched that they put RVD in. and you think its gonna be an awesome match, but turns out to be a few moves, then a frogsplash?

I mean, RVD is my favorite High-flyer, but he needs better matches

Since that moron can't even spell FEET, I'm not going to respond.

Yeah, the WWF sucks when it comes to great talent. They won't let RVD and Jerry Lynn have a 30 min match because WWF fans would see how much Rock and Austin suck. Too bad. Maybe when RVD reaches main event status (soon, by the looks of things) he'll be able to show off a bit more.

And as much as I like the 5star, i miss the van-daminator and van-terminator

I did like seeing Vince get a Rock Bottom, and then SHane receive one as well. Followed by a Peoples Elbow. That was enjoyable. But i do think that Angle will lose his title soon, back to the WCW, but will then have to face Rock for a chance against Austin...

Kurt Angle did lose his WCW title already, it went back to Booker T's "sucka" ass.

Who else thought it was kinda weak the way Booker T got upafter recieving not 1 but 2 olymipc Slams?

One stunner and Our Olymic Hero is down for the count. Weak.

    Ok heres a different question.

    What is your favorite finisher.

Mine is the spear. Awesome move that hardly anybody gets up from. Goldberg revolutionized the spear in wrestling, and Rhyno follows close behind with the second best. Edge's just sucks.

My seconf favorite is the Rock Bottom, I have participates in backyard wrestling matches, and when this thing is done right, it hurts like heck.

Jackhammer is another of my favorites, but the Goldberg one. Not the half butt way Billie Gunn does it.

Well, in real-life a powerbomb or chokeslam has to hurt VERY badly.

How is the Angle slam weak? If it's done right, it can hurt like heck!

Has anybody seen Booker T.'s rip-off of the Rock Bottom? I think it's called the "BookEnd" or something like that.

It aint a rip off, but regardless they made him stop using it.

He did it totally different, and I liked it. DDP does it to. Its called a "Sambo Suplex" or "Urinagi" its a simple suplex. The Rock falls with the victim, supposedly "selling" the move as being more painful. It is, but there are different ways of executing it.

RVD's split-legged moonsault is one of my faves. Also the Tazmission, and the DDT(not really a finisher anymore).
As for what works in real life, I find the Tazmission to be very effective.

All 'drivers' are outlawed in the WWF/WCW/ECW. Vince apparently thinks they're too dangerous. They are allowed for special occassions, such as the Undertaker vs. HHH match a while back, or as part of an angle, such as when Chyna was 'injured' by RTC.

And yes, the Angle slam looks weak. It's not much more than a belly-to-back suplex.

i put a few people in th Tazzmission myself.

I have used it to stop people from fighting. They immediatley stop. I always say:

"Hey do you want to die?"

so they started calling it the HALO. So i put people in it when they make me mad.

    It does work Saint :D

And i did not kow they outlawed the 'driver

My favorite move is the VERTEBREAKER! Cool move with a cool song. :[face_sigh]: dammit WWF, why won't you let Helms have his move and his music back?

    VERTEBREAKER!

Alright, the 250th post to this thread, let's keep it going fake rassling fans!!!

My favorite finisher has to be the good 'ol Stone Cold Stunner. I don't know why, but that move just looks cool when he lays a stunner on somebody.

    Most amazing: Van-terminator
Most painful: Tazmission (outlawed in UFC!)
    Best: Sharp-shooter (by a Hart)

    Best finisher is the worm.

Just joking :D It's either the pedigree or those proper chokeslam/powerbomb combos that they do in Japan. Belly-to-belly suplexes and DDts rule too, but they're not really finishers either anymore. The Shooting Star is quite impressive, too.

There are loads of awesome submission holds too - Tazzmission, Sharpshooter, Figure Four, Ankle Lock - all of which really really really hurt in real life :)

The Van Damninator was always great as was the Tombstone. Can anyone beleive how Taz got squashed by Jericho? Come Vince at least make it look competitive.

I have been watching WWF wrestling since I was in grade school, WCW I only caught while channel surfing occassionally and catching a promo here and there. While I know many people liked WCW, they have to agree that towards the end their wrestling and angles sucked. I did catch the last Nitro one night with it on one TV and Raw on the other, neat thing.
Anyway, I knew about DDP and Booker T and their deals, and a saw Stacy Kieblar the first time that night as well. I never saw Torrie Wilson until she showed up on Raw though. Can anyone tell me when she was in WCW and whom whe managed or had her major stories with? I would like to know more about her ;)

IMO, one of the most important criteria for a good finisher is one that can be performed on anyone. Would anyone like to see the Undertaker attempt to give the Big Slow the Last Ride? I think not.

Beyond that, it's all just the coolness factor of how the move looks. So here's my two cents:

Best Finishers: Pedigree and the Stunner

Worst Finishers: The Worm and the People's Elbow

Blasphemous, Torrie Wilson debuted in 1999 in a (stupid) angle where she seduced a yet to be revealed(at the time) person. Around the time of Superbrawl '99, Torrie's lover was revealed to be David Flair, and he promptly turned heel on his dad and joined the newly reformed(again) New World Order. What followed was vignette after crappy vignette.

This association continued through much of the year, though David Flair gradually was pushed into oblivion. Torrie's eye began to wander and she left Flair for Kidman, who was a member of a stable which included Rey Mysterio Jr, Konnan, and Eddie Guerrero, called the Filthy Animals. Eventually Kidman and Guerrero feuded over Torrie(still not sure why, but hey, that's Russo for you). Guerrero, along with Saturn, Malenko, and Benoit departed for the WWF in January of 2000 and a new regime ridded WCW of much of it's racier content, which included any significant angles involving women. Wilson resurfaced later during the year and resumed her association with Kidman(I believe their real-life relationship continues today).

Vince Russo and Eric Bischoff returned to WCW in mid-2000 and Kidman received his greatest push in a feud against Hulk Hogan in the New Blood angle. Torrie wasn't really involved, but her on camera role became a little problem when Hogan requested to the bookers that Torrie turn on Kidman and manage Hogan herself(no doubt to undermine their relationship). Kidman, of course, lost the feud against Hogan, paving the way for the infamous promo Russo shot on Hogan at Bash at the Beach 2000.

But back to the issue at hand, Torrie later on turned heel and left Kidman for Shane Douglas, a feud that would bring us such great booking decisions as the "viagra on a pole" match, and vignettes featuring an overweight teenage Torrie.[/sarcasm] Her heel character with Douglas is similar to her character in the WWF(and incidentally, identical to all WCW heel female roles), basically insulting the fans for being ugly, or stupid, or poor.

I jsut read the smackdown and spoilers and it doesn't look that great. One segment with Austin and Debra sounded real good though.
