NXT Unstoppable ends with a Samoa Joe/Kevin Owens stare down. And he has his own NXT shirt already it seems. Hes staying Samoa Joe

 

I think there would have been a riot if they changed Joe's name.

 

This is also a unique situation since he's also booked on indy shows until at least August 1st(they added to the summer show I'm going to) so he's doing both WWE and indies for about two months. Wonder if he'll finish up the indie dates before we see him again on any WWE programming.


And WWE is already selling the shirts on the shop site.

The entire place erupted with Joe chants when he came out.

Given that even though the rumors were swirling all week, no one seemed to know when the music hit it was him coming out. It was dead silent and Owens stared down the ramp way awaiting the owner of new theme. Even I felt a bit shocked when it happened, they managed to capture the magic of a debut, which hasn't happened since(imo) Jericho(not putting it on that level, but still). And I wouldn't worry about them misusing him, at least in NXT, he's going straight to the main event it looks like.

 

So... Does Joe somehow end up a factor in Owens' EC match with Cena in a week and a half?

I think the only way they can pull that match off properly is if Joe does get involved. Zayn loses to Owens' twice via DNF, but puts up a fight against Cena. I think unless Joe does get involve, they may have written themselves into a corner that makes it all but necessary to at least make Cena look broken or a step slower in some way.

 

That tune is ****ing terrible. It doesn't even loop properly. Far too soft and upbeat. I want Godzilla, damn it!

But it's superb to see Joe back, and pushed straight to the top of NXT.

 

Liked that the crowd went straight to "Joe's gonna kill you" chants.

I just came across the rumour that TNA Impact is being cancelled again. I seriously hope it's just Meltzer's standard anti TNA spiel.... Maybe they should set up shop in the UK, they get about a million viewers here.

 

If their at Full Sail University (where they started taping the NXT shows when FCW became UFC), then yeah, it's definitely a smaller crowd than the house show tours NXT has been doing recently.

Impact isn't canceled, but it's moving to Wednesdays. Could help them now that everything else is in reruns for the summer.

Yeah, if it's being broadcast they are at Full Sail University, except for that time they were at the Arnold Classic. It's their "Universal Studios" so to speak.

So basically, it's not a full-time deal yet, and Joe is still allowed to work independent shows, and is also still in talks with other companies. Given how he has merchandise on WWEshop already and made a main event level debut, I can't see him not signing a full-time deal, but it does explain a bit why he was allowed to keep his name the same

What I find interesting is that JOE doesn't seem to have to report to the training center to get trained in the wwe style. Granted he's also under a different agreement.

Which makes me wonder if wwe will be doing that more often.

no one else could set up a cool alternative fed to the wwe, so the wwe did it.

 

TNA is often a much better product than WWE, I don't get why the Americans don't like it. The average Impact is thousands of times more entertaining than the average Raw, but you wouldn't know it from the attendance or the ratings.
