It would be awesome if they could do both at the same time.

I seem to remember the Clippers and the Lakers both having a home game on the same day earlier this year. They were a couple hours apart, but that's still some fast work getting the seats cleaned up as well as the decorations changed.

Yeah, but those games were set hours apart (one game would start at 12:40pm, the other at 6:40pm). However, I believe game 4 is scheduled just a half hour after the WWE event is supposed to begin.

Kobe driving to the hoop ... and he just got Clotheslined to hell!

Oh, wait, I could actually see that happening in this series. :p

At least if you believe Mark Cuban.

IIRC, something like this has happened before. I seem to remember a possible game six in Cleveland one year going up against a concert. The Cavs pulled rank, and the concert was tentatively moved to another venue, though it became moot when the Cavs lost in five.

the WWF had the place booked first, they should get it. I really don't see how the Nuggets feel like they can just take the place.

    I love you.

But yeah, the NBA will most likely need to do the rescheduling since wrestling runs on a tight schedule and for the reason stated above.

Don't the Nuggets own the place, though? At least, I would assume they do. If they're the owners, then they get first call regardless.

OMG this is hilarious! I agree with AJ and BF2K1, let the WWF have the place. The same guy that owns the Nuggets, owns the Pepsi Center so it will really come down to what he says. Upsetting McMahon isn't a good idea, imo though.

lol, the Denver Colosseum offered to have the WWF event which only holds 10,000 and they've already sold more than 10,000 tickets. That's a duh on why it was turned down.

Just move the Nuggets game back one day. There was a 3-day gap between games 6 and 7 in the Lakers/Rockets series and the Magic/Celtics series. They can have a gap here too.

The WWE event is going to end up at a different venue. The NBA is not going to allow the game to be pushed back a night. The Nuggets owner is also not going to want to have the game at a smaller venue. The Pepsi Center will then have to pay damages to the WWE in an amount equal to the difference between what the WWE would have made if the event was held at the Pepsi Center (more tickets, more concessions (shirts, merchandise and memorabilia)) v.s. what they made at the alternate venue. Figuring out the lost ticket revenue is easy: subtract the total number of seats that alternate venue holds from the total number of seats the Pepsi Center holds and multiply that number by the ticket price. The more difficult part is getting agreement between the parties on what the loss concession sales are. If the parties cannot agree on this amount, it will go to court to decide.

There is no way in hell that the WWE ought to have priority over an NBA playoff game, regardless of the fact they scheduled their event first.

The NBA should have been aware of this event and scheduled the game around it. But like I said before, having a 3-day gap in between games isn't a hardship. Both of the game 7 semifinals took place 3 days after game 6.

In this case the NBA should have to schedule around the WWE.

In the Caps-Pens series they had to play back to back nights b/c of a concert that was already scheduled.

McMahon should have taken RAW to The Forum.

Just because it isn't a "real" sport doesn't mean that contracts made with them aren't important. They scheduled the event NINE months ago. It's not like they didn't give them any warning. The Nuggets game should be moved and this should teach the owner an important lesson.

It doesn't matter.........................a playoff game should hold precedent over another event.............................it's not like the WWE had a pay per view booked, it's just a regular RAW show.

Sweet Jebus Tunick you're only mad about this because it's a Lakers game. It doesn't take precedent over any other event because it's a playoff game. They booked it ages ago....that's what takes precedent. It's not going to kill anyone to push the game back one more day.

Someone on the NBA side really screwed this up. Like timmo said, they should have been fully aware that the place was booked and adjusted accordingly.

The fact that the Lakers are involved with this is irrelevant...........................also, is there really harm being done here to the WWE? They're getting a ton of publicity off of this, not to mention a new source material for content (ie: jokes and such) on their shows.
