Well, as I said I defected!

I never saw the end briefing, frankly I don't believe anything the Navy spits out. I don't like the Empire.

Its manual, just follow the readme. Its just a simple copy/paste. All the information is in the readme file, remember to back up (make copys) of those files that will be replaced.

If you need any help feel free to contact me!

If you're good enough, you don't NEED shields... :D

I don't really like shielded TIEs. They feel somehow.. -impure-.

    LOL

lol Crix, well you take your shieldless TIE, I'll fly my T/F with shields. I want to fight those rebels on even terms.

It IS even terms, I get the manouvrablity, they get the shields. Fair swap.

If I'm in an Interceptor, I even have the advantage.

heh 1 on 1 is one thing, but with out shields you won`t last long in an unsheilded TIE in a large dogfight. Even Grand Admiral Thrawn had his TIEs equiped with shields. Think about it Crix, the manoverability of a TIE, and sheilded. Its a deadly combination.

(and its not some cheap TIE super fighter like a TIE Defender :p )

In battle even a stray shot can take out a TIE. And you dare not go close to a capital ship in an unsheilded TIE, unless you've got your life insurance paid :p

The real test is if you can take out a YT-1300 in a bog-standard TIE. If you can do that, then you are officially good in my book. Harder than you'd think, I've only done it twice.

Tell me about it I've only done it once. You got to juke and jive a lot and you can't depend on hiding in the blind spot because the turrents can clip you and that's all it needs. Also it's engines will fry you.

ack, yeah I just tried it in XWA, thats a tad different from TIE and XvT/BoPs YT-1300...but it can be done...just reallly realllly hard, unlike this one............

My problem is those kriffing Escort Shuttles with the rear mounted laser cannon. I swear I can not take one of those out at all in a T/F, I have in a T/I but that was in the "heat" of battle. Was able to catch it fireing at a wingman while I took it out.

Don't let there be a squad of Escort Shuttles.

I'd rather take on a Star Destroyer or a Mal Calamari Cruiser rather than an Escort Shuttle. Why? Escort Shuttles can move around, big ships rely on there guns to get you and you can out manuever(sp?) them, sometimes.

The real test of TIE skill is "The Foce Run"

The idea is to strafe an ISD in a T/F, and win:D

An X-Wing can take a T/I, easy, and I resent the word "jocks"! I am a disiplined pilot, I rely on shields to alow me to go head to head with a TIE!

Yeah I hate the Escort Shuttle too, anything but that. Baron Fel wouldn`t stand a chance against one even!

so anyone else downloaded and flown my mission ? Please leave feed back!

    Unquote.

a -SMART- TIE pilot wouldn't fly straight at an X-wing. Thats not my idea of courage. More like suicide.

I'm gonna get that mission later and have a go at it. I'm still messing around creating my own, so I haven't got there yet.

The YT-1300 is getting easier the more i try it. Still can't take out the FALCON (no weak side) without having at least 4 waves for my TIE. Taking out an SSD in a bog-standard tie is fun. Takes AGES though. And you can only do it if its just the SSD and you.

If anyone uses a TIE the first thing they need to know is to keep moving, never stay still nor straight.

You know if you perfect your skills using the regular TIE Fighter, then ship over to say an X-Wing or any shielded craft. You will be one BAD motha.

Theron: EXACTLY. If I'm good enough to kick arse in a TIE, imagine what I could do in a Rebel ship... haha.

But I always get so frustrated getting into Rebel ships (except A-Wings) because they turn SO slowly.

I actually was disappointed that in TIE Fighter, you didn't have different ships to fly for different skill levels. EG, TIE Defender (AKA I'm a wimp) for Easy, TIE Advanced/Avenger (I still suck) for Medium, TIE Bog Standard (I'm a jukin' jivin' mutha) for Hard...

I'm going to stop polluting Samuel's topic now, and set up my own TIE Pilots' Lounge . I will now post here ONLY if it's relevant to the XWA mission. I've put a link in it to this topic, Sam, so hopefully you'll have some more people's opinions on it.
