SWRPF Archive X-Wing: Black Squadron (post RotJ)

OOC: Just as an FYI. These numbers are subject to change.

Watching as they file out of the room quickly, Aeryc nods at each that meets his gaze. Its been almost a week without any incidents, and he knows everyone is on edge. Maybe some leave time would help everyone unwind...

Making his way down the corridor qcuikly, he enters the lockeroom and begins suiting up with the rest of the squadron. Finishing the last few fasteners for the flight suit, he enters the flight bay and does a walk around his X-Wing. Black Groups fighters have been equipped with advanced secondary weapons packages and enhanced sensor suites. Black 1 was no exception, with some special mods Command Qel-Droma made himself. Finishing the inspection quickly, he began climbing the boarding ladder and hopped into the cockpit

Cycling the repulsor coils to life, he began to cycle through pre-flighht as the canopy closed. Easing the ship forward he was out of the bay directly behind Black 4, Sergeant Naberrie. Banking off, he moved into formation with her as others joined steadily.

Black Group, you are recieving jump coordinates for LP5. We jump in 30 seconds.

Engaging the hyperdrive, the stars all become white lines of light as Black 1 enters hyperspace.

You havent missed a lot, backtrack a bit and youre all set. Hop in about where everyone was getting ready and heading to their fighters. Youll be Black 6. If you had any questions during the briefing feel free to ask them and we'll insert them in there too

Personal History:
Just got out of years in the Acadamy this i shis first post, he was born on Alderaan
was involved in a resistance movement on coruscant, he joined the acadamy at the first chance he got.

 

OOC: Hey Doran, welcome aboard. Just readup to where we're at and jump in. Youll be Black 7. Thanks!

 

IC:

As his ship entered hyperspace, Kyle checked his systems. His laser cannons were in good condition, warhead systems too. Propulsion, navigation were efficient too. With that he sat back and got ready for some action.

TAG UQD

 

The stars return to normal as the X-Wings revert to normal space one by one. Flying in formation and heading directly for LP5, all of the craft have a perfect vantage point of the Imperial Frigate not far from the listening post.

All craft report in. Lock S-foils in attack position and accelerate to attack speed. Black 2, you take 3 and 4 to clear the fighter cover off of LP5, looks like 4 squints and 8 eyeballs. (4 tie-interceptors, and 8 ties). Black 5, 6, and 7 follow me on attack runs on that frigate. Lets send them packing.

Veering from formation towards the frigate, Black 1 angles for attack, closing rapidly on the frigate

 

IC:

Kyle set his wings to attack position and pulls in behind Black One. He moves to the rear left of the squadron leader.

"3 and 4, stay together with eachother and me. We cant win without covering eachother. Engage those ties!" Jase said confidently.

 

OOC: Black 4 is going to be gone until Aug 9th I believe so feel free to run her for now RDG.

 

Leveling out his fighter Commander Qel-Droma switched to torps and put his targeting reticle over the frigate. Watching the range quickly decrease and waiting for the max effective range to be reached, Aeryc waited to hear that tracking tone.

Suddenly his astromech, R2-J3, warned him of an impending missle attack. Surprised a little, Aeryc veered off, the missle was launched. Keying his targeting computer, Commander Qel-Droma saw them, 2 Blastboats coming from the frigate. Accelerating and targeting the missle, he began to bank hard to try and evade the missle, dispersing chaff.

Skiprays coming in fast, watch out for missles. Continue on your attack run, launch torpedoes when you get in range. Ill be right behind you.

Catching up to the missle in his tight loop, Aeryc cut the engine power and fired. The missle exploded. Punching the power back up to max, he again resumed course higher now than the formation and much further behind.

 

Doran concentrated on weaving slightly to make him harder to hit while watching his Torpedo Lock change from yellow to red. He Squeezed the trigger sending 6 torpedoes towrds the bridge of the frigate. He then noticed the missile indicator flazshing. He hit the missile targeting key and saw it closing on his ship from the port side, he rotated the ship to starboard and tried to take it into a dive but it was to late the missile slammed into his lower port wing blowing it off into the path of a Tie Fighter, which dived into Dorans spinning fighters sights long enough to squeez off 3 shots from his remaining lasers into the ship seperating the cockpit from one of it's wings. "Sir I've lost an S-Foil and dumped all my torps at that frigate, but other thasn that I"m ok." he transmitted over the comlink.

 

IC:

Kyle flew in a zig-zag pattern to throw of anyone trying to get a lock on him. He rolled so that the frigate would be under him. He then pushed the stick down to point at the ship. Rolling again so that the frigate was above him, he pulled up straight at it. He launched two torps then did a long loop to come in again.

 

OOC: is Doran my wing? or is it Black 5?

Jaya weaved in and out around the debris. Seeing 7 hit, she flicked the comm unit to life. "Seven, are you okay? Do you need help?"

Description: 5'3, dark brown hair with a prominent topknot, icey blue eyes, trying to grow a moustache ->isn't really working, lean and muscular
Personal History: Thronworld orphan, has no last name because he was raised in an orphanage. Had a rough childhood, conscripted into Imperial Navy at the age of 16, defected four years later, after graduation. Specialist in xenobiology and psychology, has a wide range of different skills (Jack-of-all-trades) but only an average pilot. In a year of combat missions flown in different fighter types and squadrons, has no kills and prefers speed and manuvering. Tried to transfer into an A-wing squadron and is currently unassigned and in a possesion of an A-wing -> As the only survivior of the Lightning Squadron, destroyed 6 months ago -> He was ill and didn't fly that mission.

Can he become a black? He can fly an X-wing if necesary but prefers A-wings

Sithspawn you are welcome to join. Read the above and you are goinh to be Black 8. You can have an A-Wing and are now engaging the Tie squadron thats around the base. Go to it!

NOTE: padmeamidala55 is on vacation for a week so we'll have to God her in.

 

IC:Well, that just MUST be a Thronworlder squadron, just look how they keep close together. I just have to get a missile lock somwhere in the center of that eyeball dance show. If one of them blows up, the rest will follow. "Leader, can you shoot a delayed detonation torp following my telemetry? I think I know how to get rid of those eyeballs out there!"

 

IC: V'Trey adjusts his shields to max aft and points all his sensors aft. "Lead, I'm going to lead them on a merry little chase. When I signall you, fire that torp!!
He powers down his weapons and puts all his juice to the engines, zoom straight through the TIE formation. "I just hope this stunt works!!!!"

 

As Commander Qel-Droma closed on the fighter group and his wingmate, he saw torpedoes streaming from their fighters towards the frigate, suddenly a missle streaked across his view

Black 7 evade now, climb and bank!

But it was too late, Balck 7 angled his fighter and the missle hit. It didnt destroy the fighter but blew an S-Foil from its side. As Black 6 dodged debris, Black 1 did the same.

Black 7, report your status. Black 6, stay with him, dont let the Imps get a shot on him.

Black 5, the frigates shields are out. Lets finish it off, and then take out those Skiprays.

Angling in for attack, his targeting computer gets a tone. Letting 4 torpedoes go towards the frigate Black 1 veers off and begins tracking the 2 Skiprays while Black 5 makes his attack run.

 

IC: "Lead respond!, Do I have that torp or not? If that torp isn't ready, these guys will make a crumbcake out of me!!!!"

He flies through the TIE group without damage and (OOC:how many) IC: fighters veer of cours and head after him.

 

OOC: There are 12 total. 8 ties, and 4 interceptors. There are the additional 2 Skipray Blastboats near the frigate.

Your lead is Black 2. Not everyone is on at the same time, just be patient and youll see everyone respond in time.

 

IC:

Kyle clicked on his comm to acknowledge Black Lead. Heading straight at the frigate he launched two torpedoes. He then flew under the ship as the torps detonated, blowing out a huge chunk of hull plating.

Once he was on the other side he pulled his stick hard for a loop towards the frigate. He was now facing the area opposite where he hit before. He launched his last torps.

The blue warheads streaked towards the frigate and blew. The frigate took the hit and was blown in half. Both halves going in opposite directions.

Kyle now flew through the debris to rejoin his squadron. He caught sight of a Skipray and plotted an intercept course. He matched speeds and pulled up behind it. He then fired at it with his lasers at quad configuration.
