Wow I missed...several posts it seems. Good to have you back Inyri.
The posts were great, as always I loved the Corran parts.

Doesn't take much to make me happy. Great job with the posts, I can't think of anything else to say, I just got back from 8 hours of classes so my brain in a bit fried.

Sorry, I got more bogged down than I expected. Here's a short part.

Epilogue: Post One

?That was such a beautiful ceremony,? Inyri commented as they made their way into the reception hall.

?I wonder how much longer it is ?til we eat,? Wes replied, looking around the room. ?I?m starving.?

?When are you not,? she muttered.

?When he?s too busy bragging about himself,? Hobbie answered in front of them. He turned around and shot Janson a look.

?Oh, like you can talk, Hobbs,? Wes protested.

?I don?t lie about my abilities,? Hobbie said calmly, ?I have no qualms admitting that I know the ground a bit too well.?

That earned him a grin from his girlfriend. She looped her arm through his again as they made their way to their seats.

?And why couldn?t Wedge have had a wedding party, anyway? The ladies need some eye candy when looking at the head table. Who are they going to drool over? Tycho?? Wes followed them. ?What was with this ?small wedding? stupidity, anyway??

?Wedge has the good sense not to make a spectacle of himself at every possible opportunity,? Inyri explained, mock serious.

?You like it that I make a spectacle of myself,? Wes grinned. ?Hey! I have a great idea!?

?Whatever it is, it?s not going to happen,? Inyri said.

?Inyri, whatever did we do without you?? Hobbie shook his head as he pulled out Amelie?s chair for her.

?You know, Inyri doesn?t control me.? Wes pouted.

?Sure she doesn?t. Just keep telling yourself that.? Hobbie pushed the chair in for his girlfriend before taking his seat.

?You should be taking notes on this, Wes. Hobbie knows how to treat a woman.?

?Yeah, in formal situations. My skills with the fairer sex lie elsewhere.? He winked.

Inyri rolled her eyes, taking her own seat.

?So, Wes,? Face appeared from the crowd with his date, ?How?s that headache?? He helped the woman he was escorting to her seat before sitting opposite Janson.

?Have a lot to drink?? Inyri looked over at Wes.

?Not exactly??

?The stripper that he hired for the party last night tossed one of her boots and it hit him square in the forehead. Wedge said it was the greatest thing he?d ever seen.? Face laughed.

?Please tell me the stripper wasn?t an Ewok,? Inyri groaned.

?No. There don?t seem to be a lot of them willing to take off their clothes for the New Republic?s finest,? Wes shook his head.

?Let alone you,? Inyri added.

?Are those two in the middle of some sort of argument?? Face?s date asked him quietly.

Face shook his head. ?No, this is their idea of foreplay.? A moment later, he yelped and rubbed his shin.

?Who else is at our table, Hobbs?? Wes turned his attention away from Face.

Hobbie picked up the place card, glancing at the name. ?Looks like Kell and Tyria.? He leaned back in his seat, looking around the room. ?They?re still talking with Runt by the cake.?

Wes turned in that direction. His eyes lit up as they landed on the cake. ?You know, this gives me a really good idea??

?Wes.? Inyri gave him a look.

?What? It does.? He shrugged. ?I didn?t say I was going to do it. You always assume the worst.?

?No,? Hobbie shook his head, ?We always assume you?ll be you.?

?I must say, I was rather proud of how well you behaved yourself during the wedding.? Inyri admitted. ?I kept worrying that a chorus line of Ewoks would come dancing across the front of the church singing an up-tempo love song.?

?I looked into it, but couldn?t find enough for a full chorus line and decided that doing something half way just wouldn?t have the right effect.? Wes pulled a piece of flimsy from his pocket and jotted something on it quickly.

?What are you doing?? Hobbie raised an eyebrow, trying to see what Janson was writing.

?Adding a note to mention Inyri?s fear to my speech.?

?Your speech?? Face looked over. ?Oh, poor Wedge.?

?What, you wouldn?t want me to wish the happy couple all the best?? Wes put on a hurt expression.

i mean you know i love wes/inyri but its was a great post.

I just started reading this one at the repeated suggestion of Jedi_BMack.
I've read the first several books of the X wing series--not all of them. But I know enough to know who the characters are.
I am really enjoying this, however. That scene with Janson stripping at the beginning?

I can't wait to read more

I feel like this is the 10th X-wing book. Better than Stackpole's books actually.

 

Appreciated Hobbie?s teasing of Janson about how the only time he wasn?t hungry was when he was too busy bragging, and about how Inryi can keep Janson under control.

Liked the idea of Janson getting a boot in the middle of the forehead, he?d have possibly managed to duck if his attention hadn?t been focussed quite so intently elsewhere. To quote Han ?Great shot kid, that was one in a million!?

Feel sorry for Wedge having to have a Janson speech since I agree with Face and Hobbie about the probable contents. Also agree that the Ewok obsession is getting a little disturbing.
