IN ROTS, WE SEE PROTOTYPES FOR FOR X-WINGS AND TIE FIGHTERS BEING USED IN THE OPENING SEQUENCE. IS THERE A REASON WHY THE EMPIRE EVENTUALLY WENT WITH THE TIE FIGHTERS AS THEIR MAIN "SHORT RANGE" FIGHTER, WHILE THE REBELS WENT WITH THE X-WINGS (AS WELL THE OTHER HOST OF "ALPHABET-WING" FIGHTERS), IN THE REMAINDER OF THE SAGA?

Sorry, but I think this would be best suited for either the Star Wars Community forum or perhaps one of the EU forums, since it isn't directly related to anything in the PT. Also, I'd suggest that you stop posting in all caps.

I'm not a fan of EU but as i understand it the company that constructed the ARC-170 fighter, Incom, joined the Rebellion soon after the formation of the Empire. Incom later manufactured the X-Wing.

Sinar (?) Systems were builders of the Jedi Interceptor and later the builders of TIE fighters. They remained loyal to the Empire.
