I was thinking that an X-Wing pilot costume would be perfect for me. Problem is, I don't even know where to start. I don't see many pages about them, and I didn't see any thread or anything in the FAQ.

has anyone here done an x-wing pilot costume or know where I can get info about it?

    Thanks

    JD

Start by seeing if you can find a helmet. Ebay is probably your best bet for that right now. Then work on the jumpsuit, boots, and vest.

They're in the process of updating the site, I believe, so it should be working soon. :)

do a yahoo search for 'X-Wing Helmet'

there is a place online that sells Don Post masks that also have lots of star wars, including the helmet, it will run you 50 bucks though

No. But they are occasionally involved in group costuming projects.

There are lots of knowledgable pilots over Rebel Legion. There has been a lot of discussion over the flight suits and the chest boxes (including making some with working lights). You might wanna drop by there.

Other than that Obi-Wan's tutorial is the only one I know of.

I figured out the jumpsuit, it's just an orange air force flight suit (I happen to be in the AF, so this is not much of a problem for me). I also already have the boots. The only thing I'm really all that worried about is the helmet...

but thanks for the info guys!

I just got my helmet from buycostumes.com. It looks good, my only complaint is it moves around on my head too much. I am going to have to put some more foam padding in it to keep it from moving around.

I think that's the way I'm going to go. I'm not sure how often I'll actually wear the helmet though, I'll probably just carry it around under my arm a lot of the time ;)

I'll also change the paint job a bit and put some dragon decals on it.
