Ok I have most of the costume figured out.. but how do I make the harness? I have the material, what I need is an idea how it's put together.. the photos I've seen so far don't help much..

If you have gotten some of that curtain batting, stitching it would flatten out the ridges. Seeing as your dealing with vinyl and material maybe a qaulity craft glue or hot glue.

Youre right, I went through a few pics I have of luke in that Xwing flight suit and I cant tell from the detailing whether its a stitched item or not.

A suggestion might be to find a figure of an X-wing pilot.

Thanks Spook, I looked at them and since they're molded to the figure it was no help in how it's sewn together... I apreciate the idea though.

Have you seen this site? It doesn't really go into detail, but it might help.

From the one Skywalker picture, it looks as though there is a 2 inch ring that the harness is sewn onto between the legs. In a McQuarrie photo of Luke on Dagobah, it shows the back of his suit, and it looks like the harness is the same in back and in front, so I'm thinking that there is a ring between the legs, then the front strap and back strap are sewn onto it, then the leg pieces are sewn onto it also, but I'm not sure how that goes.

You might want to try Obi-Wan's Jedi Achademy
@ jedi-academy.com for some good insights into X-Wing pilots and more!

Might I suggest, also, when you make your leg straps, you put velcro on the seems. THis makes it easyer to get in and out of...
