I agree. Has he said he's not, or is it just nobody expects him to. Maybee he could write a new X-Wing series following Rogue Squadron with Gavin being rogue leader.

Gavin's a colonel in the Marines now, actually. How does it make sense for him to go from Starfighter Command to Navy to Marines? I don't know but Denning bloody well did it so who knows who's Rogue Leader now? :p

Well, Stackpole is the one compiling all of the old Rogue Squadron comics into the Omnibuses. I'd be very surprised if he didn't have his hands in other SW books in the future.

Does anyone know if the Redemption mission described in Rogue Squadron came first in the X-wing game or was later added in because of the book? That one's been bothering me for a while.

God i love the wook. It said that it originated as a mission in the game which he then put in the book.

I started playing video games a little late to play xwing or tie fighter. But i did manage to play xwing vs tiefighter and all the later ones. Balance of power and xwing alliance.

Well keep in mind that in our world the US Marines have their own little air force/are supported by naval aviation. It's not out of the realm of possibility for the SW universe to have a similar setup.

True. Still, I don't know how you go from being a commander in Rogue Squadron, to an Admiral, to a Colonel.

Wasn't the head of Starfighter Command part of the anti-Daala plot?

Gavin has always been a straight-arrow (plus he's always been friends with Corran) so it's probably politics!

Also, the 'Admiral' could have been a Brevet rank.

Could be. I can't remember. But I think you're right.

While we're on the topic, Why is Wedge a General commanding ships and fleets. You'd think Commodore or Admiral would be more apropos.

Because he prefers flying x-wings. The closer he is to that the happier he is.

I'm not sure this is exactly the right thread to share, but I thought I'd do so anyway. Picked up the X-wing minatures game recently. One of my friends is hosting a board game night tomorrow, so maybe I can wrangle someone into playing with me.

What stops you from doing that without the miniatures? :p

We played it and it was hilarious. Both me and my friend are horrible strategists. In the second turn, I managed to place my X-wing in between his two TIE fighters but in a way that didn't allow me to fire that turn. Somehow all of his shots missed. In the very next turn, he managed to position his two eyeballs so they ended up head-to-head, almost crashing into himself and ending the game right there. :D

They didn't include a card for Wedge (just Luke and Biggs)! I am writing them a very mean letter right now expressing my disappointment. ;)

That's hilarious. But yes, you should use your nerd rage to the advantage of all. :p

    O:)

The game was fun but felt like it was missing something...say 11 X-wing miniatures. And I guess a few more TIE fighters. And Wedge. And a Death Star to keep everything fair. :D
