I was trying to figure out someone for a good Hobbie. I guess since he was in ESB and had a few good facial shots, unlike Janson, who had a few side-of-face shots but not really much more, I just pictured whoever-it-was that portrayed him in ESB. :p

But if there were a Wraith/Rogue TV show or movie today, I'm just not sure who I'd cast as the Hobbie to Donnell's Janson. Can't think of anything simultaneously dour but goofy enough, not off the top of my head. Give me some time... [face_thinking]

Yes, Renner was the perfect casting for Donos, IMO.

Couldn't think of someone for Lara; someone with dark blond (or light brown) hair, I think.

I...don't know who Baldwin is, so I'm sticking with the other guy. :p

    ...Adam Baldwin. Jayne, from Firefly?

I'm not as concerned with hair color for Lara, since she changes it frequently, and wigs/dye are very helpful things. :)

Well, Allston did say it was about 10-15 years before Firefly, so I don't know if he would be a good Trey now. But someone of that physical type.

Rooney Mara would be a fantastic Dia.

Iella - I think I've decided that Romola Garai would be perfect for her.

If she had long hair, Samira Wiley is pretty close to how I picture Shalla - the big smile in particular.

Michael Shanks and Ben Browder should play Hobbie and Janson. (Image heavy.)
    Derek "Hobbie" Klivian
    [IMG] "...it's worse than that."
    Wes Janson
    [IMG] [IMG]

    [IMG] [IMG]

...and Claudia Black should play Isard.

It's not my intention to wholesale import the cast of SG-1, they're just too perfect.

It's from Steven Speilberg and Tom Hanks' Band of Brothers, which Premiered on HBO in 1999

It was bloody, heartwrenching, and not strictly historically accurate to what actually happened, but it followed a squad of Paratroopers through WWII Europe and mixed intense combat with squad cameraderie

A ton of folks got minor parts there, from Simon Pegg,
    [IMG]

    to Tom Hardy

    And James McAvoy

It was followed by "The Pacific" which was a grimmer look at the Marine campaign in the Pacific:

Both are some of the best television I have had the pleasure of viewing. The efforts of the production staff, the character interactions and the topnotch writing were what I would love to have seen, had an X-Wing series ever been made.

If you guys want some squad interactions for writing inspiration and a high tolerance for depressing stuff, give them a view. (Not for the faint of heart or stomach though)

I watched BOB when it aired when I was a kid, after I read the book. I caught the Pacific by borrowing a DVD set from a friend. They're both HBO shows, so there are DVD sets out there, and may be available on HBO go.
